Selection of Players in Football (In a Nutshell)

  • The entire squad should be in the fray to be selected.
  • When the team is winning then that doesn’t necessarily mean changes shouldn’t be made.
  • The performance of a player is more important than winning; it’s about building a culture.
  • Endeavour when given the opportunity to play should be a factor.
  • Training form should come into account; practice makes perfect.
  • The Board should have a say in team selection as they control the finances etc.
  • The Director of Football and Coaches should decide.

The A-League is Back! (Week 5 Review)

(Week 5 of the A-League 2019/20 Restart- Review)- Facts and Figures

Goals Scored: 17 goals in six games = 2.83 goals per game!
Clean Sheets: Two out of the six games had at least one clean sheet in it, which equates to 33.33% of games!
Draws: There were two draws in six games.
A-League Restart- Week 5 (In a Nutshell): The football that was played was of a high standard in the five games that were played. There were goals galore and plenty of entertainment from the perspective of a neutral spectator. Find out why!

Different Football Formations (My Top Five)

There are various types of formations, which are utilized by football teams. There’re various systems that Coaches like to use. Some people prefer the traditional more popular 4-4-2, others prefer 5-3-2. It’s the one that suits the squad of players that should be chosen. Here’s my top five:

1st– 3-5-2
2nd– 4-5-1
3rd– 4-3-3
4th– 4-4-2
5th– 5-4-1
