Premier League Team of the Week – Matchweek 21 (Premier League Season 2020-21)

Matchweek 21 Team of the Week (In a Nutshell)

I correctly predicted two players who were selected by me in the Matchweek 21 Team of the Week!

Formation

3-4-3

Starting 11 (Player correctly predicted in bold)

Emiliano Martínez (Aston Villa), Rúben Dias (Manchester City), Thiago Silva (Chelsea), César Azpilicueta (Chelsea), Callum-Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea), Pascal Groß (Brighton and Hove Albion), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), Marcos Alonso (Chelsea), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Patrick Bamford (Leeds United), Callum Wilson (Newcastle United)

Goalkeeper

Emiliano Martínez (Goalkeeper- Aston Villa)- Martinez made some outstanding saves in Matchweek 21. He was probably the reason why Aston Villa defeated Southampton.

Defenders

Rúben Dias (Centre Back- Manchester City)- Dias was outstanding for Manchester City. He helped Manchester City earn a clean sheet against Sheffield United. He was probably the man of the match.
Thiago Silva (Centre Back- Chelsea)- Silva did a great job in restricting Burnley from having an impact in the final third.
César Azpilicueta (Centre Back- Chelsea)- Azpilicueta broke the deadlock as he opened the scoring in the 40th minute. He led from the front.

Midfielders

Callum-Hudson-Odoi (Right Wing- Chelsea)- Hudson-Odoi was fantastic on the right wing for Chelsea.
Pascal Groß (Centre Midfield- Brighton and Hove Albion)- Groß of Brighton and Hove Albion provided an assist for the only goal of the match.
Jack Grealish (Attacking Midfield- Aston Villa)– Grealish put in a solid display for Aston Villa. He provided the assist for the only goal of the match.

Striker

Mohamed Salah (Striker- Liverpool)- Mohamed Salah scored a brace for Liverpool in a comfortable win over West Ham. It’s difficult to tell whether Liverpool would have won without him in the team, as he played extremely well.
Patrick Bamford (Striker- Leeds United)- Bamford scored a goal and provided two assists for Leeds United.
Callum Wilson (Striker- Newcastle United)– Wilson scored a brace for Newcastle United against Everton. He could have scored a hat trick, but hit the post! He was probably the difference between the two teams.

Matchweek 21 Team of the Week (Final Thoughts)

In Matchweek 21, I tried my best to select the Premier League Team of the as accurately as possible. All 20 teams played one match. It was tough to choose the team with plenty of goals with an average of two goals per match. It was difficult to leave out the left and right back from Manchester United. It was tough to leave players out of the team, but that’s football.
