Melbourne Victory (My Top 5 Favourite Players)

5- Jakob Poulsen (Centre Midfield)

Jakob Poulsen has played in 16 of 21 games in the A-League 2019/20 Season. Poulsen started 11 of the 21 games, displaying a great endeavour and attitude when given the chance to contribute. He provided 2 assists as well.

4- James Donachie (Centre Back)

James Donachie featured in 20 of the Melbourne Victory’s 21 games for the A-League 2019/20 Season. Donachie was probably the most important player for the Victory this Season.

3- Elvis Kamsoba (Left Wing)

Elvis Kamsoba had a descent Season performance wise, despite not being clinical in the final third. Kamsoba featured in 20 of the Melbourne Victory’s 21 games, starting 18 games. His attitude is a credit to him, despite there being no end product, which could be attributed to a bit of bad luck as I believe he has the potential to be a good player.

2- Adama Traore (Left Back)

Adama Traore played 18 of 21 games, making many a marauding run down the left hand side. Traore was never despondent and always put in 100% effort, while staying motivated even though the Melbourne Victory sit 2nd last on the A-League ladder.

1- Migjen Basha (Centre Midfield)

Migjen Basha showed great endeavour; Basha never stopped trying. He has featured in all 21 games, starting in 19 of the games. The manner in which he played is a credit to him as he still has his feet kept firmly on the ground. He also scored 1 goal and provided an assist.

Newcastle Jets (My Top 5 Favourite Players)

5- Nigel Boogaard (Centre Back)

Nigel Boogaard is a quality player and a good leader, who was out of the Newcastle Jets team for nearly half the A-League Season due to injury. Boogaard started all 12 games that he featured in; he helped revive the Jets A-League 2019/20 Season as they currently sit just 3 points outside of the top 6.

4- Angus Thurgate (Centre Midfield)

Angus Thurgate has had a reasonable Season having featured in all but 1 of the A-League games this Season, except for the 22nd and last game for the immediate future. He is a player with plenty of talent, helping the Jets control the middle of the park scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist. He started 12 of the 21 games that he featured in.

3- Dimitri Petratos (Attacking Midfield)

Dimitri Petratos was a revelation due to the management of Carl Robinson, as he has 5 goals and 8 assists thus far for the A-League 2019/20 Season. Petratos has been more clinical and been more dangerous in the final third of recent times. Earlier in the A-League Season it almost appeared as if he was trying to hard.

2- Roy O’Donovan (Striker)

Roy O’Donovan is a quality player that is clinical in the final third. O’Donovan scored 9 goals in the 19 games that he featured, 12 of which were for the Brisbane Roar where he managed to score 6 goals. He was the Brisbane Roar’s top goal scorer, but he was let go. He didn’t let it worry him as he scored 3 goals in the 7 games he featured in for the Newcastle Jets.

 1- Steven Ugarkovic (Centre Midfield)

Steven Ugarkovic displayed a great will to contribute to the team as a whole; Ugarkovic always tried his best to help the Newcastle Jets control the middle of the park. He was rewarded with 4 goals, which was all he needed to add to his game to be a more complete player; goals. He worked tirelessly and also provided 1 assist. He started all 22 games of the 2019/20 A-League Season.
