Adelaide United: They showcased their depth
Adelaide United had a few injuries and a suspension to their left-back, Ryan Kitto. Despite that, you wouldn’t have known it as their performance warranted a result.
Brisbane Roar: A new coach, with the right approach
Brisbane Roar sacked their coach Warren Moon, which is unfortunate. New Brisbane Roar coach Nick Green made them play a more attacking brand of football and they scored two goals.
Central Coast Mariners: Disappointed to drop two points
Central Coast Mariners would be upset they conceded a goal in the 94th minute, even though they were down to ten men.
Macarthur FC: They’re in a spot of bother
Macarthur FC were one goal down in the third minute and down to ten men in the sixth minute. They were inevitably obliterated 4-nil by Western Sydney Wanderers.
Melbourne City: Got the job done
Melbourne City played well considering they were without arguably the best player in the A-League, Matthew Leckie. They won 3-2, despite not playing their best football.
Melbourne Victory: Back on the bottom of the table
Melbourne Victory would be upset that they conceded a goal in the 87th minute. They didn’t play well, even though Adelaide United were missing players.
Newcastle Jets: A game they should’ve won, but that’s football
Newcastle Jets had 64% possession and two more shots on target than Western United, but still lost!
Perth Glory: Struggling away from home
Perth Glory aren’t getting wins when they play away from home, it’s as simple as that.
Sydney FC: Not bad, despite losing
Sydney FC played some decent football, but let in two goals in the opening 13 minutes. That’s something you can’t do against Melbourne City.
Wellington Phoenix: A good point on the road
Wellington Phoenix claimed a point in the 94th minute. They did well to get to get a result away from home.
Western Sydney Wanderers: An easy day at the office
Western Sydney Wanderers played with one more player from the sixth minute onwards, in a game that was like a training drill at times. Despite that, it was a much needed win for them.
Western United: They were fortunate
Western United would be stoked that they won 3-1. They were winning 1-nil after 21 minutes, but their goalkeeper Jamie Young made four quality saves, at that point in time.
