My Favourite 50 AFL Players- Season 2022 (20-11)

20- Josh Dunkley (Western Bulldogs)

Dunkley polled the most votes for the Bulldogs in the 2022 AFL Brownlow Medal with a total of 14 votes. He featured in all 23 games that the Bulldogs played in and won their Best and Fairest.

19- Steven May (Melbourne Demons)

Steven May was had an outstanding Season for the Demons and was rewarded by being selected at full back in the AFL All-Australian Team in Season 2022.

18- James Sicily (Hawthorn Hawks)

Sicily averaged the third most intercepts of any player in the AFL in Season 2022 with an average of 8.55 intercepts per game. He is arguably the Hawks most important player.

17- Jeremy Cameron (Geelong Cats)

Jeremy Cameron of the Cats averaged the third most score involvements of any player in the AFL as he averaged 7.92 score involvements per game in Season 2022. He was selected at centre half forward in the 2022 AFL All-Australian Team.

16- Sam Taylor (GWS Giants)

Sam Taylor averaged the most intercepts on average of any player in the AFL in Season 2022 with an average of 9.45 intercepts per game. The Giants defender was selected at centre half back in the AFL All-Australian Team.

15- Jarrod Witts (Gold Coast Suns)

Witts was selected in the AFL All-Australian squad of 44 in Season 2022. He led from the front for the Suns and was one of the reasons why they had a reasonable Season, despite not making the finals. He averaged the most hit-outs of any player in the AFL, with an average of 37.86 hit-outs per game in Season 2022.

14- Ben Keays (Adelaide Crows)

Keays polled 11 votes in the Brownlow Medal in Season 2022, which was the second most of any Crows player. He displayed great leadership and played some great footy. He was equal leader of the AFL Brownlow Medal after Round 5, with 9 votes!

13- Jordan Dawson (Adelaide Crows)

Dawson averaged the second most metres gained of any player in the AFL in Season 2022 with an average of 591.00 metres gained per game. He kicked a goal after the siren in Round 3 for the Crows. The goal ensured that the Crows won the game against the Power, as they trailed prior to the kick after the siren.

12- Brayden Maynard (Collingwood Magpies)

Maynard was selected in the back pocket of the AFL All-Australian Team.  He was the only Magpies player selected in the AFL All-Australian Team.

11- Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)

Bontempelli was named in the AFL All-Australian squad of 44. His leadership was a big reason why the Bulldogs narrowly made the finals in Season 2022.
