My Favourite 50 AFL Players- Season 2022 (10-1)

10- Andrew Brayshaw (Fremantle Dockers)

Andrew Brayshaw was selected on the interchange bench in the AFL All-Australian Team. He is potentially the Dockers next Captain. He finished equal fourth in the Brownlow Medal in Season 2022 as he polled 25 votes.

9- Touk Miller (Gold Coast Suns)

Miller led from the front for the Suns. He was rewarded by being selected on the wing in the AFL All-Australian Team in Season 2022. Along with that, he finished third in the AFL Brownlow Medal as he polled 27 votes.

8- Sam Docherty (Carlton Blues)

Docherty was a key player for the Blues. He was consistent and inspirational, as he came back from cancer to and managed to play all 22 games in Season 2022. It’s a story that transcends sport.

7- Patrick Cripps (Carlton Blues)

Cripps won the Brownlow Medal in Season 2022 and was named Vice Captain in the AFL All-Australian Team in Season 2022. He performed extremely well in a team that just missed the finals.

6- Angus Brayshaw (Melbourne Demons)

Angus Brayshaw was extremely consistent and was a pivotal part of the Demons finishing in the top four. He leads by example.

5- Sam Walsh (Carlton Blues)

Walsh is a player that never stops trying, even though he is extremely talented. He doesn’t take his talent for granted. He averaged the third most disposals of any player in the AFL with an average of 31.20 disposals per game, in the 20 games that he featured in.

4- Jack Sinclair (St Kilda Saints)

Sinclair was a revelation for the Saints and was rewarded by winning their Best and Fairest in Season 2022. There were times when he was a shining light for them. He was rewarded by being selected on the half back flank in the 2022 AFL All-Australian Team.

3- Rory Laird (Adelaide Crows)

Laird averaged the most disposals of any player in the AFL in Season 2022 with an average of 32.95 disposals in the 20 games he featured in. He was probably the Crows best player. He only had less than 30 disposals in four games in Season 2022.

2- Jai Newcombe (Hawthorn Hawks)

Newcombe was a revelation for the Hawks in Season 2022. He polled the most votes of any Hawks player as he finished with 11 votes in the 2022 AFL Brownlow Medal. It was a difficult to find a game where he wasn’t listed as one of the Hawks best players.

1- Nick Daicos (Collingwood Magpies)

Nick Daicos polled the equal most votes of any Magpies player as he finished the Brownlow Medal in Season 2022 with 11 votes. He was unlucky not to be named in the AFL All-Australian squad. Despite that, he was rewarded by being named the AFL’s Rising Star for 2022. He was a pivotal part of the Magpies team that nearly made the AFL Grand Final.
