In a Nutshell

I have selected the best player for every team in the Premier League. Those players have been chosen based on their display up until Matchweek 14 of the Premier League Season 2020/21. The exercise has been done in alphabetical order. It’s broken up into four parts, with five teams underneath each subheading.

Part One

Arsenal: Gabriel Magalhaes- Magalhaes has featured in all but one of Arsenal’s games, due to suspension. He has managed to score two goals, despite being a defender and helped Arsenal to keep three clean sheets.
Aston Villa: Jack Grealish- Grealish has been a big part of why Aston Villa have been playing so well this Premier League Season. He has five goals and eight assists.
Brighton and Hove Albion: Solly March- March has played in all but two matches for Brighton and Hove Albion. He has scored two goals and provided one assist.
Burnley: Nick Pope- Pope only missed one game for Burnley, which they lost 5-nil. Remarkably, he has kept five clean sheets in 13 games and only conceded 13 goals.
Chelsea: Ben Chilwell- Chilwell has played all but three games and only played nine minutes last match due to injury. He was the catalyst for Chelsea’s improvement as he wasn’t selected in the first three games of the Premier League Season. He has managed to score two goals and provided three assists. Also, Chelsea has kept five clean sheets in effectively ten games that he has featured in at left back. That’s taking into account he was injured in the 11th game he played in he was injured early on. That means that in half the games he has played this Season, Chelsea has kept a clean sheet!

Part Two

Crystal Palace: Wilfried Zaha- Zaha has scored seven goals and provided three assists in the 12 games he has featured in. That’s despite missing two matches due to injury.
Everton: Dominic Calvert-Lewin- Calvert-Lewin has played every game this Premier League Season. He has scored 11 goals and provided four assists.
Fulham: Alphonso Areola- Areola has kept two clean sheets in 13 games. He has made the fifth most saves of any goalkeeper in the Premier League. That total being 52 saves, despite missing the first match of the Premier League Season. He has only conceded 20 goals in 13 games, which isn’t a lot given Fulham have struggled up until recently.
Leeds United: Patrick BamfordBamford has been instrumental in Leeds United being arguably the best team to watch play! He has featured in every game and even managed to score a hat trick. He has scored nine goals and provided three assists.
Leicester City: Jamie Vardy- Vardy has played in all but one of Leicester City’s games this Premier League Season! He has scored 11 goals and provided six assists. He is a bit of a barometer for the team given that the game he didn’t play, they lost!

Part Three

Liverpool: Mohamed Salah- Salah has played all but one game this Premier League Season. He has scored 13 goals and provided four assists for Liverpool. He even scored a brace in Matchweek 14, despite playing just over a half an hour!
Manchester City: Kevin De Bruyne- De Bruyne has played in all but one game. He has also come off the bench in another. He has still scored two goals and provided seven assists. He is a pivotal part of the Manchester City team.
Manchester United: Bruno Fernandes has featured in all 13 matches that Manchester United have played. He has nine goals and six assists. He leads by example and is a key part of the team moving up the Premier League Table. When Manchester United were in a precarious position his performance never suffered. It was the opposite; he showed that he is resilient and has a strong character.
Newcastle United: Callum Wilson- Wilson has scored eight goals and provided four assists. He has been instrumental in Newcastle United sitting close to the top half of the Premier League Table.
Sheffield United: Aaron Ramsdale- Ramsdale has the fourth most saves of any goalkeeper in the Premier League this Season. He has accumulated 53 saves in 14 games. He has conceded 25 goals in 14 games that Sheffield United have played this Season.

Part Four

Southampton: Jannik Vestergaard- Vestergaard has featured in all but one game that Southampton have played this Premier League Season. He missed the second game of the Season and Southampton conceded five goals. He has scored three goals and Southampton have kept five clean sheets when he has played the entire game!

West Brom: Sam Johnstone- Johnstone has made the most saves of any goalkeeper this Premier League Season. The West Brom goalkeeper has made a total of 63 saves! They have conceded 29 goals in 14 games, which is just over two goals per game. That score would be more with another goalkeeper.
West Ham: Aaron Cresswell has been integral. He has been a big reason why West Ham sit in the top half of the Premier League Table. He has helped them keep four clean sheets and only conceded 19 goals in 14 matches. The left back has also been an attacking force, providing four assists.
