Premier League Team of the Week – Matchweek 13 (Premier League Season 2020-21)

Matchweek 13 Team of the Week (In a Nutshell)

I predicted three players who were selected by me in the Matchweek 13 Team of the Week!

Formation

 4-4-2

Starting 11 (Players correctly predicted in bold)

Sam Johnstone (West Brom), Kyle Walker-Peters (Southampton), Michael Keane (Everton), Lewis Dunk (Brighton and Hove Albion), Andrew Robertson (Liverpool), James Maddison (Leicester City), Mateusz Klich (Leeds United) Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Patrick Bamford (Leeds United), David McGoldrick (Sheffield United)

Goalkeeper

Sam Johnstone (West Brom)- Johnstone almost single handedly got West Brom a point. He made plenty of quality saves when the result was undecided. In fact, it appeared inevitable that Manchester City would score the winning goal. Thankfully, for West Brom Johnstone helped his team salvage a draw.

Defenders

Kyle Walker-Peters (Right Back- Southampton)– Walker-Peters was in good form for Southampton against Arsenal.
Michael Keane (Centre Back- Everton)- Keane helped Everton keep a clean sheet against Leicester City.
Lewis Dunk (Centre Back- Brighton and Hove Albion)- Dunk was instrumental in Brighton and Hove Albion not conceding any goals.
Andrew Robertson (Left Back- Liverpool)- Robertson provided the assist for what proved to be the winning goal of the match.

Midfielders

James Maddison (Centre Midfield- Leicester City)– Maddison looked dangerous and proved that his Matchweek 12 display wasn’t an aberration.
Mateusz Klich (Centre Midfield- Leeds United)- Klich provided an assist and had a good game. He was instrumental in Leeds United winning comfortably, in the end, against Newcastle United.
Kevin De Bruyne (Attacking Midfield- Manchester City)- De Bruyne had a good match against West Brom. He never took it for granted that Manchester City would claim all three points. He put in a good shift.
Marcus Rashford (Attacking Midfield- Manchester United)- Rashford scored two of Manchester United’s goals.

Strikers

Patrick Bamford (Striker- Leeds United)– Bamford had a good match. He scored the all important equaliser.
David McGoldrick (Striker- Sheffield United)- McGoldrick scored a brace against Manchester United.

Matchweek 13 Team of the Week (Final Thoughts)

In Matchweek 13, I tried to select the Premier League Team of the as accurately as possible. It was the toughest Matchweek to select a team in. There were five out of 20 teams that kept a clean sheet. There were 15 teams who scored 26 goals. Theo Walcott of Southampton deserves an honourable mention. I decided to select the team in a narrow 4-4-2 formation and Walcott played on the right wing in midfield. Mohamed Salah was also unlucky to miss out on selection, so does Nick Pope.
