My Top 5 Most Important Players for Each Team in the A-League 2019/20 Season (Part 4- As of March 23rd)
There are differing reasons why a player can be an important part of the team; ranging from having limited players in that position on the bench to a player being skilful and a threat in the final third. The 4th part of this topic assesses the Perth Glory and Sydney FC. As with the 1st 3 parts of this exercise, it was interesting to decipher who the top 5 most important players from the 2 teams were.
Perth Glory (Top 5 Most Important Players)
5th Most Important Player- Neil Kilkenny- Kilkenny played well in the middle of the park. He currently has 2 goals and 3 assists.
4th Most Important Player- James Meredith- Meredith played well for the Perth Glory on the left hand side.
3rd Most Important Player- Alex Grant- Alex Grant has been an important part of the Perth Glory defence.
2nd Most Important Player- Bruno Fornaroli- Fornaroli has scored 12 goals.
THE MOST IMPORTANT PLAYER- Diego Castro- Castro was the playmaker for the Perth Glory. He has 4 goals and 7 assists.
Sydney FC (Top 5 Most Important Players)
5th Most Important Player- Milos Ninkovic- Ninkovic is a quality player; he has 5 goals and 2 assists. He has been a pivotal part of the Sydney FC midfield.
4th Most Important Player- Adam Le Fondre- Le Fondre is the 2nd top scorer in the A-League with 17 goals. He has caused opposition defences headaches.
3rd Most Important Player- Rhyan Grant- Rhyan Grant has 1 goal and 4 assists.
2nd Most Important Player- Luke Brattan- Brattan works extremely hard in the middle of the park.
THE MOST IMPORTANT PLAYER- Andrew Redmayne- Sydney FC have conceded the least goals, 16; partly due to Redmayne.
