A-League 2019-20-(February 28th, 2020- March 1st, 2020)- Predicted Team of the Week

A-League (February 28th, 2020- March 1st, 2020)- Predicted Team of the Week (Remembering Wellington Phoenix are the Team with the Bye)

Formation

3-5-2

Starting 11:

Andrew Redmayne, Ryan McGowan, Nigel Boogaard, Jordan Elsey, Josh Risdon, Josh Brillante, George Blackwood, Gianni Stensness, Corey Brown, Jamie Maclaren, Roy O’Donovan

Goalkeeper

Andrew Redmayne (Goalkeeper- Sydney FC)- Expect Redmayne to be the difference between the 2 teams. He showed in last Season’s Grand Final’s penalty shootout that he can play well in big games and this weeks Sydney derby is considered a big game.

Defenders

Ryan McGowan (Centre Back- Sydney FC)- Ryan McGowan should be at his best in the Sydney derby; he is a player who is an unassuming part of what is currently the best team in the A-League as it stands.
Nigel Boogaard (Centre Back- Newcastle Jets)- The Newcastle Jets have a must win clash with the Perth Glory this weekend, if they want to keep their faint hopes of finishing in the top 6 alive. Expect Boogaard to lead from the front.
Jordan Elsey (Centre Back- Adelaide United)- Elsey will be pivotal if Adelaide United are to defeat Melbourne Victory and expect that to happen.

Midfielders

Josh Risdon (Right Wing- Western United)- Risdon will be tough for the Central Coast Mariners to stop having an impact on the game as he is a quality player.
Josh Brillante (Centre Midfield- Melbourne City)- Brillante will be instrumental in what could be a tough game for Melbourne City against the Brisbane Roar.
George Blackwood (Centre Midfield- Adelaide United)- Blackwood will be needed in the final third in his new role of central midfield if Adelaide United are to defeat the Melbourne Victory.
Gianni Stensness (Centre Midfield- Centre Midfield)- Stensness should be the reason why the Central Coast Mariners get a win against Western United.
Corey Brown (Left Wing- Brisbane Roar)- Brown has been an important part of the Brisbane Roar resurgence and even though the Brisbane Roar may not get anything out of the game in terms of points, Brown should have a good game.

Strikers

Jamie Maclaren (Striker- Melbourne City)- Maclaren should get back to dominating in the final third and most importantly scoring in a game that Melbourne City should win against the Brisbane Roar.
Roy O’Donovan (Striker- Newcastle Jets)- Expect O’Donovan to keep the Newcastle Jets unlikely finals hopes alive!
