A-League 2019/20- Round 6 My Preview

A-League 2019/20- Round 6 My Preview

The first 5 Rounds of the A-League have been entertaining, as there has been a total of just 2 games out of the opening 25 games that have had a margin of more than 1 goal separating the 2 teams, which is a remarkable stat. There are only 4 games in Round 6 as 3 teams have a bye, hopefully all the games are entertaining.

Teams with Round 6 Bye: Perth Glory, Western Sydney Wanderers, Wellington Phoenix

My Choice of a definite winner for this Round: Melbourne City

Saturday Evening Game

Central Coast Mariners v Adelaide United
The Central Coast Mariners Mariners had a disappointing loss to Melbourne City in Round 5, while Adelaide United also need to improve on their Round 5 display as their performance wasn’t up to standard, despite beating the Brisbane Roar. I expect the Central Coast Mariners to bounce back in what is a winnable game for them, despite being the underdogs.
Central Coast Mariners Game Changer: Ruon Tongyik
Adelaide United Game Changer: Michael Jakobsen
My Prediction: Central Coast Mariners

Saturday Night Game

Western United v Newcastle Jets
Both teams were relatively good from a performance perspective in Round 5, with Western United claiming all 3 points, while the Newcastle Jets shared the points with the Perth Glory. The Newcastle Jets could get a much needed win as Western United are missing possibly their best player this A-League Season; Josh Risdon, who is in the Socceroos squad for their game against Jordan.
Western United Game Changer: Connor Pain
Newcastle Jets Game Changer: Steven Ugarkovic
My Prediction: Newcastle Jets

Sunday Afternoon Game

Brisbane Roar v Melbourne City
Brisbane Roar haven’t been playing bad football, despite failing to win any games in their opening 4 of the Season and only scoring 1 goal! They just can’t get that 1st win of the Season. Melbourne City have been outstanding; they are unbeaten after 5 games and sit on top of the A-League ladder. They will be boosted by the return to the squad of Jamie Maclaren and should win this game based on current form.
Brisbane Roar Game Changer: Aiden O’Neill
Melbourne City Game Changer: Scott Galloway
My Prediction: Melbourne City

Sunday Night Game

Sydney FC v Melbourne Victory
This should be an open and attacking game with Melbourne Victory in particular in need of the 3 points. It’s 4th against 7th in this one. I expect Melbourne Victory to win this game if they can replicate the way in which they played in Round 5 against Wellington Phoenix, even though they only got a draw. Sydney FC had the bye and it will be interesting to see if that’s good or bad for them.
Sydney FC Game Changer: Brandon O’Neill
Melbourne Victory Game Changer: Adama Traore
My Prediction: Melbourne Victory
