A-League Semi Finals My Review
It was an unbelievable weekend of Semi Finals in the A-League with a total of 13 goals scored in the 3 and a half hours of football that was played. There were many points of interest in the Semi Finals; it was Marco Kurz’s final game as coach of the Reds, while the Victory were embarrassed in a big game. The Reds were tenacious and played unbelievably well to come back on 2 occasions and bring the game to a penalty shootout. There are just 2 teams that remain in contention to win the A-League Finals series.
Friday May 10th
Glory v Reds
The Reds played better than the Glory for much of the game considering the manner in which both teams prepared for the game; given the fact that the Glory had a week off. The game went to penalties with the Reds equalizing once in normal time and another time in stoppage time, with the game finishing at 3-all at the end of extra time. Liam Reddy was the hero for the Glory in the penalty shootout, scoring a penalty and saving a few.
Glory Game Changer: Liam Reddy
Reds Game Changer: Jordan Elsey
My Prediction: Reds
Sunday May 12th
Sky Blues v Victory
The Sky Blues were outstanding from start to finish with the Sky Blues playing to a high level. Such was their dominance they took a 3-nil lead into the half time break. It was difficult to find a bad player on the field for the Sky Blues, while for the Victory it was tough to find a good player on the field. The Sky Blues continued the momentum they had built in the first half in the second half winning the game comprehensively.
Sky Blues Game Changer: Rhyan Grant
Victory Game Changer: Ola Toivonen
My Prediction: Victory
