A-League Round 22 My Preview
The A-League is heading closer to finals time with the minor premiers and the top 6 still not confirmed from a mathematical point of view. Hopefully Round 22 continues on from Round 21 with regards to the A-League teams being clinical in the final 3rd as there were plenty of goals scores last Round.
My Choice of a definite winner for this Round: Jets
Friday March 15th
Reds v Glory
Both teams need a win for different reasons; the Reds will be looking to ensure that they finish in the top 6 and feature in the finals and possibly secure a top 4 finish, which means they host a finals game, while the Glory will want to ensure that they win the minor premiership. Hopefully this game is more entertaining than their last match where it finished goalless.
Reds Game Changer: Ryan Strain
Glory Game Changer: Juande
My Prediction: Reds
Saturday March 16th
Jets v Mariners
This is a potential danger game for the Jets as the Mariners have a new coach and will be looking to boost their morale with a good performance. The Jets must win this game to ensure that they still have a chance of finishing in the top 6 and playing in the finals.
Jets Game Changer: Dimi Petratos
Mariners Game Changer: Andrew Hoole
My Prediction: Jets
Victory v Roar
The Victory will find it tough to play this game as they played an away game in the Asian Champions League this week. On paper the Victory should win this game, but the game isn’t played on paper. Like the Mariners, the Roar will be looking to boost their morale.
Victory Game Changer: Kosta Barbarouses
Roar Game Changer: Ruon Tongyik
My Prediction: Roar
Sunday March 17th
Phoenix v Wanderers
This is an interesting game, which should be entertaining with both teams will be in good spirits as they had convincing resounding victories last week, all be it against the 2 bottom teams. The Phoenix and the Wanderers scored 12 goals between them last Round so hopefully there are plenty of goals in this game, therefore both teams will be looking to score lots of goals and claim all 3 points.
Phoenix Game Changer: Liberato Cacace
Wanderers Game Changer: Roly Bonevacia
My Prediction: Wanderers
Sky Blues v City
Like the Victory the Sky Blues played an away game in the Asian Champions League this week; City will be looking to capitalise on the fatigue of the Sky Blues players and claim all 3 points as City haven’t secured a top 6 finish yet.
Sky Blues Game Changer: Andrew Redmayne
City Game Changer: Jamie Maclaren
My Prediction: City
