Goals Scored: There were 11 goals in five matches.
Clean Sheets: Three out of ten teams that played kept a clean sheet.
Draws: There was one draw in five matches.

Round 8 (In a Nutshell): In three out of four matches where a team claimed three points, the winning team had less possession than their opponent. Melbourne City and Macarthur FC weren’t included as they play each other Tuesday December 23rd.

Round Highlights

Central defender Lucas Herrington put on a defensive masterclass in a goalless draw for the Brisbane Roar against Western Sydney Wanderers.

Juan Mata played his best game in the A-League in the Original Rivalry; he ran the show in a 2-1 win for Melbourne Victory over Adelaide United.

Newcastle Jets scored three goals in seven minutes in 3-1 win against Wellington Phoenix; Eli Adams scored in the 50th minute, Lachlan Rose in the 54th and Clayton Taylor in the 57th. Ifeanyi Eze scored a fantastic headed goal for Wellington Phoenix in the 69th minute.
