Top 50 players in the AFL Season 2023 (10-1)

10- Nick Larkey (North Melbourne Kangaroos)

Larkey was pivotal for the Kangaroos; he was the only player from their team that was chosen in the AFL All-Australian squad of 44. He was deservedly selected on the interchange bench in the AFL All-Australian team. Larkey averaged the third most goals per game of any player of AFL with 3.09.

9- Christian Petracca (Melbourne Demons)

Petracca was a pivotal part of the Demons team in season 2023. He was selected on the half-forward flank of the AFL All-Australian team. Along with that he won the Demons best and fairest. Petracca had the most score involvements of any player in the AFL 210, which was 12 more than the next best, which was Charlie Curnow.

8- Jordan Dawson (Adelaide Crows)

Dawson relished being the captain of the Crows as he was selected on the interchange bench on the AFL All-Australian team. He led by example and was no doubt one of the most consistent performers in the AFL.

7- Zak Butters (Port Adelaide Power)

Butters finished equal fourth in the AFL Brownlow Medal with Errol Gulden. Along with that, Butters was selected in the midfield in the AFL All-Australian team.

6- Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)

Bontempelli finished second in the AFL Brownlow Medal and was selected in the midfield in the AFL All-Australian team. He led from the front and carried the Bulldogs team, who just missed out on the AFL finals.

5- James Sicily (Hawthorn Hawks)

Sicily averaged the second most intercepts per game of any player in the AFL with 9.42 in the 19 games he featured in. Even though he missed four games through suspension he was selected in the back-pocket in the AFL All-Australian team.

4- Sam Taylor (GWS Giants)

Sam Taylor averaged the most intercepts per game of any player in the AFL with 9.89 in the 18 games that he featured in.

3- Nick Daicos (Collingwood Magpies)

Nick Daicos is a player with plenty of ability. He was selected in the midfield in the AFL All-Australian team. He averaged the second most disposals per game of any player in the AFL with 31.00 and he finished third in the AFL Brownlow Medal with 28 votes, even though he missed three games in the home and away season.

2- Toby Greene (GWS Giants)

Greene was elite for the Giants in season 2023; he was named captain of the AFL All-Australian team. He took to the captaincy of the Giants team like a duck to water. Greene played extremely well under new coach Adam Kingsley who decided to make him the sole captain of the Giants team.

1- Errol Gulden (Sydney Swans)

Gulden showed what a special player he is in season 2023. He was selected on the wing in the AFL All Australian team. Along with that, he always looked calm and composed and the Swans may not have featured in the AFL final’s series without him; Gulden won their best and fairest easily.
