Top 50 players in the AFL Season 2023 (50-41)

50- Sam Walsh (Carlton Blues)

Walsh finished ninth in the Blues best and fairest, even though he missed eight games through injury. He won the Gary Ayres Medal for the best player in the finals series.

49- Luke Jackson (Fremantle Dockers)

Jackson was one of three Dockers players that was chosen in the AFL All-Australian squad of 44. He was a revelation for the Dockers in his first season with the Dockers.

48- Kieren Briggs (GWS Giants)

Briggs started season 2023 as the number three ruckman for the Giants, but forced his way into the team in Round 10. His presence in their team had a strong correlation with the improvement that they made; 12 of 17 games that Briggs played the Giants won.

47- Joe Daniher (Brisbane Lions)

Daniher featured in all 26 games and kicked 61 goals including ten goals in three games in the final’s series.

46- Isaac Quaynor (Collingwood Magpies)

Quaynor was one of five Magpies players that featured in the AFL All-Australian squad of 44. He featured in all 26 games that his team played in and finished 6th in their best and fairest.

45- Lachie Whitfield (GWS Giants)

Whitfield finished fourth in the Giants best and fairest. He averaged 26.96 disposals per game and featured in 24 of the 26 games that his team played in.

44- Mason Wood (St Kilda Saints)

Wood was a revelation for the Saints as he featured in all 24 of their games and did well in his role on the wing.

43- Charlie Cameron (Brisbane Lions)

Charlie Cameron of the Lions was selected in the AFL All-Australian team in the forward pocket.

42- Jake Lever (Melbourne Demons)

Lever averaged was a pivotal cog for the Demons as he averaged the fourth equal most intercepts per game of any player in the AFL, with 8.38.

41- Brad Crouch (St Kilda Saints)

Brad Crouch averaged 6.92 tackles per game and was an integral part of the Saints midfield.
