AFC Bournemouth: They showed some fight
AFC Bournemouth lost the game due to letting in a couple goals in the opening 24 minutes. Apart from that they put in a decent shift. They lost to Chelsea 2-nil.
Arsenal: Forced to show their resilience
Arsenal were losing 1-nil to West Ham United, but fought back to win 3-1!
Aston Villa: Simply outclassed
Aston Villa were outplayed by Liverpool and lost the game 3-1.
Brentford: The game should’ve been over at half time
Brentford were exceptional in the first half and should have put the game beyond doubt at half time. They squandered a 2-nil lead against Tottenham Hotspur
Brighton and Hove Albion: They played with the right approach
Brighton and Hove Albion were clinical in the final third in their 3-1 win over Southampton.
Chelsea: Scored a couple of good goals
Chelsea won a game thanks to being clinical in the final third. Their 2-nil win over AFC Bournemouth wasn’t the most convincing display.
Crystal Palace: Self destruct
Crystal Palace were down to nine men in the 57th minute. They lost 3-nil to Crystal Palace.
Everton: They lost a game that they should’ve won
Everton took the lead in the seventh minute. Unfortunately for them they lost 2-1, as Wolverhampton Wanderers scored the winning goal in the 95th minute.
Fulham: The Aleksandar Mitrovic show
Fulham were fortunate that Aleksandar Mitrovic was fit to play. He was involved in all three goals; scoring one and providing two assists in a 3-nil win over Crystal Palace.
Leeds United: Completely outplayed in every aspect of the game
Leeds United lost 3-1 to Manchester City. The margin would’ve been more than two goals if not for Leeds United goalkeeper, Illan Meslier.
Leicester City: They weren’t up to the level of their opposition
Leicester City conceded two goals in seven minutes, so the game was effectively over. They lost 3-nil to Newcastle United in the end.
Liverpool: They showed plenty of attacking flair
Liverpool were back to the sort of attacking football that they played last season. They deservedly defeated Aston Villa 3-1.
Manchester City: Dominant
Manchester City controlled the game, but should’ve beaten Leeds United by more than two goals.
Manchester United: Marcus Rashford back to his best
Manchester United can thank Marcus Rashford for their 3-nil win over Nottingham Forest. He scored a goal in the 19th minute and provided an assist for a goal scored in the 22nd minute.
Newcastle United: Made it look easy
Newcastle United displayed a strong mentality against Leicester City. There was only one team that was going to win this game. Despite scoring two goals in the opening seven minutes, Newcastle United weren’t complacent as they won 3-nil.
Nottingham Forest: Totally outplayed
Nottingham Forest didn’t put up much of a fight with their goalkeeper, Wayne Hennessey. They deserved to lose by more than 3-nil against Manchester United.
Southampton: Deservedly lost against an opposition they could’ve beaten
Southampton would be disappointed in their performance against Brighton and Hove Albion. It was a fairly one sided game. Brighton and Hove Albion were too good winning the game 3-1.
Tottenham Hotspur: They only woke up after conceding the first two goals
Tottenham Hotspur were thoroughly outplayed in the first half, until they trailed 2-nil in the 54th minute. Harry Kane got them back into the game with an exquisite headed goal in the 65th minute. In the end they had fight eight shots on target, compared to five shots on target for Brentford and a 2-all draw would leave Tottenham Hotspur with mixed emotions.
West Ham United: The scoreboard didn’t tell the whole story
West Ham United put up a good fight as they took the lead against Arsenal in the 27th minute. Despite that Arsenal were too clinical in the second half and won the game 3-1.
Wolverhampton Wanderers: Win brings them off the bottom of the table
Wolverhampton Wanderers showed grit and character after conceding the opening goal of the game in the seventh minute. They claimed a much needed win against Everton with their second goal coming in the 95th minute. That meant Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated Everton 2-1 and moved into 18th place on the Premier League table.
