A-League Review- Matchweek 3 ( Season 2020-21)

Facts and Figures

Goals Scored: There were five goal scored in two games= An average of 2.5 goals per game!
Clean Sheets: None out of the four teams kept clean sheet.
Draws: There were no draws in the two matches.
Matchweek 3 (In a Nutshell): There were only two matches that took place in Matchweek 3. The game between Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory, which was going to take place on Sunday; 10/01/2020, was postponed. It’s going to be an unpredictable Season, where the teams will have to be adaptable regarding fixtures. Here’s my Matchweek 3 Review!

Friday- 08/01/2021 (Only Game)

Newcastle Jets (1) v Western Sydney Wanderers (2)
Jets Lost, because they weren’t Clinical Enough!
Facts and Figures: The Jets were probably the better team, especially in the 1st half. The Wanderers took the lead after the Jets controlled the opening few minutes. The goal resulted from a great header by Ziggy Gordon in the 7th minute.
Pivotal Moment: Tate Russell gave the Wanderers what appeared to be an unassailable 2-nil lead in the 57th minute. The Jets pulled back a goal.

Saturday- 09/01/2021 (Only Game)

Macarthur FC (1) v Wellington Phoenix (1)
The Spoils were Shared in a Game Full of Talking Points!
Facts and Figures: The Phoenix controlled the game for the most part. They should’ve been more threatening in the final third. The Phoenix should’ve scored in the opening part of the game. They controlled the tempo of the game and balance of play. They eventually scored in the 39th minute through David Ball.
Pivotal Moment: Alex Rufer’s red card in the 62nd minute.

Matchweek 3 (Final Thoughts)

It’s great to see that football is back in Australia. It doesn’t matter if it’s going to be tough to manage, it’s worth it, provided everyone stays healthy!
