Premier League Team of the Week – Matchweek 7 (Premier League Season 2020-21)

Matchweek 7 Team of the Week (In a Nutshell)

I predicted one player who was selected by me in the Matchweek 7 Team of the Week!

Formation

 4-3-3

Starting 11

Goalkeeper: Aaron Ramsdale (Sheffield United)
Right Back: Kyle Walker (Manchester City)
Centre Back: Gabriel Magalhães (Arsenal)
Centre Back: Harry Maguire (Manchester United)
Left Back: Sergio Reguilón (Tottenham)
Centre Midfield: Jack Grealish (Aston Villa)
Centre Midfield: James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)
Centre Midfield: Youri Tielemans (Leicester City)
Striker: Callum Wilson (Newcastle United)
Striker: Aleksandar Mitrović (Fulham)
Striker: Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)

Goalkeeper

Aaron Ramsdale of Sheffield United kept his team in the game. He made seven saves from the eight shots on target that Manchester City had. If not for him the score line could have looked a lot worse than 1-nil.

Defenders

Kyle Walker from Manchester City scored his fourth goal in his 100th game for Manchester City. It was an outstanding striker, that was the only goal of the game.
Gabriel Magalhães helped Arsenal keep a clean sheet against Manchester United.
Harry Maguire may have been Captain of the losing team, but he wasn’t to blame for Manchester United losing to Arsenal. He put in a good shift.
Sergio Reguilón finished the game with what proved to be the decisive assist for the goal scored by Gareth Bale that gave Tottenham a 2-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.

Midfielders

Jack Grealish had one assist and scored a goal to help make the score line a respectable 4-3 for Aston Villa. It proved to be a narrow defeat against Southampton, who led 4-nil at one stage.
James Ward-Prowse provided one assist and two stunning free kicks to give Southampton a 3-nil lead over Aston Villa at half time.
Youri Tielemans of Leicester City scored two goals against Leeds United.

Strikers

Callum Wilson of Newcastle United scored two goals in their win over Everton.
Aleksandar Mitrović provided two assists for both of Fulham’s goals in a much needed win over West Bromwich Albion.
Jamie Vardy scored a goal and provided an assist in a game where he displayed his quality in the final third.

Matchweek 7 Team of the Week (Final Thoughts)

I endeavoured to select the Premier League Team of the Week in Matchweek 7 as accurately as possible. That’s related to the positions that I chose and the formation that most closely fitted the players that warranted selection in Matchweek 7 Team of the Week. As with other previous Team of the Weeks there were unlucky players that missed out, but that’s football.
