AFL Round 3- What to Expect

AFL Round 3- My Preview

Round 3 is once again the unknown. How will the 18 teams recover from Round 2. The shorter quarters appear to be here to stay, for Season 2020 at the very least. It will be fascinating to see who can recover from the 1st AFL game in a while. Have a look at what may transpire.

My choice of a definite winner for this Round: Richmond v Hawthorn (Hawthorn to win)

Toughest game to pick a winner in: Essendon v Melbourne (Essendon to win)

Thursday Night Game

Richmond v Hawthorn
This is an easy game to find a winner in as Richmond will be without Dustin Martin due to injury. Hawthorn will be looking to prove their Round 2 display was an aberration. It appears as if it could be a tough year for Richmond in Season 2020 if their performances in the opening 2 Rounds are any indication. Despite not losing they have been lacking quality.
Key matchup: Trent Cotchin v Tom MItchell
Richmond Game Changer: Kane Lambert
Hawthorn Game Changer: Ricky Henderson
My Prediction: Hawthorn

Friday Night Game

Western Bulldogs v Greater Western Sydney Giants
These 2 teams both had a loss in Round 2. The Western Bulldogs will be desperate to bounce back from their poor performances in the 1st 2 Rounds in Season 2020, with a win.
Key matchup: Pat Lipinski v Lachie Whitfield
Western Bulldogs Game Changer: Mitch Wallis
Greater Western Sydney Giants Game Changer: Jacob Hopper
My Prediction: Western Bulldogs

Saturday Afternoon Game

North Melbourne v Sydney Swans
This should be a good game of footy. North Melbourne have won their opening 2 games so its too difficult to tip against them!
Key matchup: Ben Cunnington v Luke Parker
North Melbourne Game Changer: Jed Anderson
Sydney Swans Game Changer: Jordan Dawson
My Prediction: North Melbourne

Saturday Evening Game (Melbourne Time)

Collingwood v St Kilda
An upset appears to be possible in this game, based on both teams Round 2 performances.
Key matchup: Brodie Grundy v Rowan Marshall
Collingwood Game Changer: Callum Brown
St Kilda Game Changer: Jack Billings
My Prediction: St Kilda

Saturday Night Games

Geelong v Carlton
Carlton will be desperate to get their 1st win of the Season.
Key matchup: Sam Walsh v Sam Menegola
Geelong Game Changer: Sam Menegola
Carlton Game Changer: Harry McKay
My Prediction: Carlton

Brisbane v West Coast
Brisbane should win this game based on the manner in which these 2 teams played in Round 2.
Brisbane Game Changer: Eric Hipwood
West Coast Game Changer: Andrew Gaff
My Prediction: Brisbane

Sunday Afternoon Games

Gold Coast v Adelaide
Gold Coast should definitely win this game as they were outstanding in Round 2. On the other hand Adelaide were disappointing in Round 2.
Key matchup: Brad Crouch v Hugh Greenwood
Gold Coast Game Changer: Jack Bowes
Adelaide Game Changer: Tom Lynch
My Prediction: Gold Coast

Essendon v Melbourne
Essendon will be looking to stay undefeated, while Melbourne should be aiming to improve on their 2nd half in Round 2.
Key matchup: Andrew McGrath v Clayton Oliver
Essendon Game Changer: Zach Merrett
Melbourne Game Changer: Christian Petracca
My Prediction: Essendon

Sunday Night Game

Fremantle v Port Adelaide
Fremantle have lost their opening 2 games of Season 2020 narrowly. It will either motivate them or mean that they find it tough to get their 1st win of the Season. Port Adelaide have been the stand out teams in the 1st 2 Rounds of the Season and it’s too difficult to tip against them in Round 3; based on their 1st 2 games of the Season.
Key matchup: Nat Fyfe v Tom Rockliff
Fremantle Game Changer: James Aish
Port Adelaide Game Changer: Todd Marshall
My Prediction: Port Adelaide
