AFL Round 12 My Preview

AFL Round 12 My Preview

Last Round there were plenty of blowouts with 5 games out of 9 with a margin separating the 2 teams of more than 6 goals. This week the following teams have byes: Bombers, Bulldogs, Dockers, Hawks, Power and the Saints.

My choice of a definite winner for this Round: Blues

Friday Night Game

Tigers v Cats
This could be an entertaining contest if the Tigers play to their potential. It will be interesting to see how Jacob Townsend goes in his first game of the season for the Tigers.
Key matchup: Tim Kelly v Dion Prestia
Tigers Game Changer: Jacob Townsend
Cats Game Changer: Brandan Parfitt
My Prediction: Tigers

Saturday Afternoon Games

Blues v Lions
The Lions need to win this game to prove that they are a contender, while the Blues need to win this to boost their moral. It will be interesting to see how Blues caretaker coach David Teague goes in his first game as a senior AFL coach.
Key matchup: Sam Walsh v Dayne Zorko
Blues Game Changer: Sam Walsh
Lions Game Changer: Eric Hipwood
My Prediction: Blues

Suns v Kangaroos
The Suns need to win to get back on the winners list and give their fans something to cheer for. The Kangaroos have had two successive wins, but Jamie Macmillan is a big loss for them through injury and their defence could be impacted.
Key matchup: David Swallow v Ben Cunnington
Suns Game Changer: Anthony Miles
Kangaroos Game Changer: Shaun Higgins
My Prediction: Suns

Saturday Night Games

Crows v Giants
This should be an entertaining game where there could be an upset in.
Key matchup: Richard Douglas v Josh Kelly
Crows Game Changer: Brad Crouch
Giants Game Changer: Josh Kelly
My Prediction: Crows

Sunday Afternoon Games

Swans v Eagles
The Swans have been competitive the last few weeks, while the Eagles are on a winning streak.
Key matchup: Luke Shuey v Tom Papley
Swans Game Changer: Luke Parker
Eagles Game Changer: Andrew Gaff
My Prediction: Swans

Monday Afternoon Games

Magpies v Demons
Both teams lost their Round 11 games so this could be a tough game that could go either way.
Key matchup: Adam Treloar v Clayton Oliver
Magpies Game Changer: Josh Thomas
Demons Game Changer: Oskar Baker
My Prediction: Demons
