Who’s Going to Win in Round 2 of the AFL?

AFL Round 2 My Preview

Round 2 of the AFL Season should be a good one as there are many intriguing games to watch. It will be interesting to see how the Tigers cover the loss of key defender Alex Rance and how the Crows cover the loss of Tom Doedee. The new rule put in place appears to be working making the game free flowing, which means that Round 2 should be extremely entertaining.

My choice of a definite winner for this Round: Saints

 Thursday Night Game

Tigers v Magpies

This is a tough game to pick a winner. Both sides would be disappointed with their performances in Round 1. Even though the Tigers won they can improve. This is a rematch of last years Preliminary Final, the Tigers will have to formulate a game plan without Alex Rance.
Key matchup: Toby Nankervis v Brodie Grundy
Tigers Game Changer: Kane Lambert
Magpies Game Changer: Josh Thomas
My Prediction: Magpies

Friday Night Game

Swans v Crows
Both teams lost a game in Round 1 that they were expected to win, at least according to the bookies, so they will be hungry in Round 2 to get their 1st win of the season.
Key matchup: Josh Kennedy v Matt Crouch
Swans Game Changer: Ryan Clarke
Crows Game Changer: Wayne Milera
My Prediction: Crows

Saturday Afternoon Games

Bombers v Saints
The Bombers to be competitive, at the very least in Round 2, following a poor performance in Round 1, while the Saints will want to ensure that they continue the momentum from their narrow victory in Round 1.
Key matchup: Sebastian Ross v Dylan Shiel
Bombers Game Changer: Kyle Lanford
Saints Game Changer: Jade Gresham
My Prediction: Saints

Power v Blues
The Power should win this game at least on paper, but the Blues are improving.
Key matchup: Tom Rockliff v Patrick Cripps
Power Game Changer: Jack Watts
Blues Game Changer: Nic Newman
My Prediction: Power

 Saturday Night Games

Cats v Demons
This is a difficult game to pick a winner in as both teams are reasonably evenly matched.
Key matchup: Patrick Dangerfield v Clayton Oliver
Cats Game Changer: Brandan Parfitt
Demons Game Changer: Angus Brayshaw
My Prediction: Demons

Eagles v Giants
The Eagles will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss in Round 1, while the Giants will be looking to keep up their good form
Key matchup: Dom Sheed v Tim Taranto
Eagles Game Changer: Dom Sheed
Giants Game Changer: Adam Tomlinson
My Prediction: Giants

 Sunday Afternoon Games

Kangaroos v Lions
The Kangaroos need to be competitive to boost their morale, following a shocking performance in Round 1 against the Dockers, while the Lions.
Key matchup: Shaun Higgins v Lachie Neale
Kangaroos Game Changer: Todd Goldstein
Lions Game Changer: Jarryd Lyons
My Prediction: Lions

Hawks v Bulldogs
The Hawks and Bulldogs both played well in Round 1 so this could well be the game of the Round.
Key matchup: James Worpel v Marcus Bontempelli
Hawks Game Changer: Ricky Henderson
Bulldogs Game Changer: Mitch Wallis
My Prediction: Bulldogs

Suns v Dockers
Hopefully the Suns are as competitive as they were last weekend as their game against the Saints exceeded expectations as it was quite an entertaining game for the neutral spectator.
Key matchup: Jarrod Witts v Sean Darcy
Suns Game Changer: Anthony Miles
Dockers Game Changer: Michael Walters
My Prediction: Suns
