Who’s Going to Finish in the Top 4 and win the Title; It’s Still Anyone’s Guess after Game Week 31 in the Premier League!

Premier League Game Week 31 My Review (Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool)

Manchester United didn’t feature in this Game Week as they didn’t play a game. Even though they didn’t play a game they would be interested in the result in the game involving Chelsea as it may have a bearing on whether United finish in the top 4. Chelsea had a tough game away from home against Everton, while Liverpool also had a tricky match away to Fulham, which they needed to claim all 3 points to give themselves a chance of claiming the Premier League title.

Everton v Chelsea My Review

Chelsea had more than double the possession of that of Everton, despite playing away from home, however dominating possession and controlling the tempo of the game doesn’t always translate onto the scoreboard. Everton had 8 shots on target to Chelsea’s 5, which indicates that Chelsea didn’t transfer their dominance onto the scoreboard. Both goals that were scored in the contest came in the 2nd half of the game. Unfortunately for Chelsea both of the goals were scored by Everton, which means that Chelsea may find it tough to finish in the top 4 at the end of the season.

 Fulham v Liverpool My Review

Like Chelsea, Liverpool dominated possession despite playing away from home. Liverpool had 16 shots to Fulham’s 7. Liverpool controlled the tempo of the game, without playing at their best from the perspective of being clinical in the final 3rd. Once again Sadio Mane scored, this time it was just after the midway point of the 1st half. Despite Liverpool’s dominance Fulham equalised after the midway point of the 2nd half. James Milner gave Liverpool all 3 points with a penalty fairly late one in the game. It was an important 3 points for Liverpool in the title race.
