At Least 2 Goals Scored in Every Game! What a Round of Football, Round 18 was!

A-League Round 18 My Review

The Minor Premiership is now all but won by the Glory, in what was a pulsating Round of football!

Thursday February 7th

Jets v Phoenix

It was a game where both goal keeper for their respective teams got the accolades and recognition. This was a game of 2 halves; The Phoenix were the better team in the 1st half, despite conceding the only goal, while the opposite happened in the 2nd half! For the Phoenix, goal keeper Oliver Sail was outstanding, particularly in the 2nd half, while Roy Krishna missed another penalty, with Jets goal keeper, Glen Moss making a quality save from Krishna’s penalty kick.  It was a game of football played at a high tempo and 1 of the better A-League games of the season.
Jets Game Changer: Glen Moss
Phoenix Game Changer: Oliver Sail

Friday February 8th

Roar v Sky Blues
The Roar lost 2 defenders in the 1st half through injury; centre back, Luke Devere and right back, Jack Hingert. The game looked all but over when Daniel De Silva opened the scoring relatively early in the 2nd half, however, the Roar fought back to clinch an unlikely victory thanks to a goal from substitute, Tobias Mikkelsen and a match winning goal from Dylan Wenzel-Halls, which proved to be the match winning goal for the Roar.
Roar Game Changer: Dylan Wenzel-Halls
Sky Blues Game Changer: Daniel De Silva

Saturday February 9th

Wanderers v Mariners
This wasn’t the prettiest of games to watch, but it was good to see the Wanderers claim the 3 points and ease the pressure, at least for 1 week on their manager. On the other side of the ledger; for the Mariners, there weren’t many positives to speak of in the 2-nil defeat.
Wanderers Game Changer: Jaushua Sotirio
Mariners Game Changer: Tommy Oar

City v Reds
The Reds went into half time with a 1-nil lead thanks to a goal from Craig Goodwin. City equalized in the 2nd half thanks to new signing Jamie Maclaren scoring his 1st goal for the club thanks to an assist from Luke Brattan. That was how the game remained; at 1-all.
City Game Changer: Harrison Delbridge
Reds Game Changer: Jordan Elsey

Sunday February 10th

Victory v Glory
This was a good game of football between the 2 top teams in the A-League as it stands. The Glory were the better team for much of the contest and claimed all 3 points on offer.
Victory Game Changer: Kosta Barbarouses
Glory Game Changer: Diego Castro
