Is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the new ‘Special One’? Are Chelsea that Good? Can Anyone in the Premier League Overtake Liverpool?

Premier League Game Week 20 My Review (Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool)

Premier League Game Week 20 was a successful one for the three teams that I report on, which can be attributed to the fact that each team claimed the three points on offer. Liverpool had the toughest opposition this week, in Arsenal, yet they had the most resounding victory of the three teams with a four goal victory. Liverpool are comfortably on top of the Premier League table at this stage, while Chelsea are in the top four and a much improved Manchester United team have cemented sixth spot on the Premier League table for the foreseeable future.

Manchester United v Bournemouth My Review

Paul Pogba once again relished the opportunity to start a Premier League match under new Manchester United Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by scoring a first half brace! Marcus Rashford also showed that he is enjoying life under the new United manager with a goal late in the first half. Nathan Ake gave Bournemouth something to take into the half time break as far as positives were concerned with a goal in first half stoppage time for the visitors, which would have added to their morale. Unfortunately there was no miraculous comeback from Bournemouth with United substitute Romelu Lukaku all but putting the result beyond doubt. On a sour note for the home side, Eric Bailly was sent off late in the match, however they still cruised to a four-one victory.

Crystal Palace v Chelsea My Review

It was pleasing to see that Olivier Giroud and Ross Barkley got an opportunity to start the match for Chelsea, as they have both been starved of first team football this Premier League season. Chelsea dominated possession and had four shots on target to Crystal Palace’s none for the match. Happy to leave the game with the three points, Chelsea would still be disappointed that they didn’t convert their dominance as far as possession was concerned onto the scoreboard, as the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool managed to score four and five goals respectively this week. Chelsea won the match thanks to a goal from N’Golo Kant’e early in the second half in what should have been a one sided contest as far as the scoreboard was concerned.

Liverpool v Arsenal My Review

Liverpool displayed why they are the best side in the Premier League as it stands; they cruised to a comfortable five-one victory despite conceding an early goal! It was more than just a domination on the scoreboard that Liverpool could take away from the contest. Mohamed Salah allowed Roberto Firmino to take a penalty in order for Firmino to have the opportunity to score his hat trick, when Salah is the player who normally takes the penalties for Liverpool; It was a symbol of the unity within the team as there aren’t many players in the world who would forfeit taking a penalty so that another player in their team could score a hat trick!
