A-League Round 5 My Preview
As it stands, no team has won every game and no team has lost two games or more so Round 5 of the A-League should be an entertaining one. I expect it to be an enthralling Round of football as it’s an extremely even competition.
My Choice of a definite winner for this Round: Reds
Friday Night Game
Wanderers v Jets
Both teams have had patchy form this season. The Wanderers have only lost one game, while the Jets have failed to register a win and claim the elusive three points. The Wanderers and the Jets both claimed a point in Round 4 of the competition so it promises to be an intriguing clash. I think the Jets should win this one.
Wanders Game Changer: Bruce Kamau
Jets Game Changer: Dimitri Petratos
My Prediction: Jets
Saturday Night Games
Phoenix v Reds
The two teams involved in this contest suffered two-nil losses in Round 4 of the A-League. They sit seventh and sixth respectively on the A-League ladder, so both teams need a result. The Reds should be victorious in this contest.
Phoenix Game Changer: Alex Rufer
Reds Game Changer: Craig Goodwin
My Prediction: Reds
Roar v City
The Roar are coming off a draw, while City had a morale boosting victory. Roar are outside the top six, while City are third on the ladder as it stands. I think City should be victorious in this game.
Roar Game Changer: Adam Taggart
City Blues Game Changer: Kearyn Baccus
My Prediction: City
Sky Blues v Victory
The Sky Blues are second on the ladder, while Victory have claimed six points from their last two matches. This should be a fascinating contest, but the Sky Blues should win it.
Sky Blues Game Changer: Brandon O’Neill
Victory Game Changer: James Troisi
My Prediction: Sky Blues
Glory v Mariners
The Glory should win this game according to their form line this season, but I expect it to be a tough game as the Mariners have a good team on paper.
Glory Game Changer: Shane Lowry
Mariners Game Changer: Matt Simon
My Prediction: Mariners
