My Top Six Most Important Players for Each Team, Part Five

I have formulated my top six most important players for the Magpies, Power and Saints for the 2018 season. A player must have participated in a minimum of ten games to be considered.

Magpies

1- Brodie Grundy- A key player who is not only a ruckman, but like another midfielder as he is adept with his work around the ground.
2- Steele Sidebottom- An elite midfielder of the competition, who is a pivotal part of the Magpies team.
3- Scott Pendlebury- The leader of the team, time stands still at times when he gets the footy.
4- Jordan De Goey- Fits perfectly into the forward structure of the Magpies.
5- Will Hoskin-Elliott- The leading goal kicker for the Magpies, his value to the team can be substantiated by the fact that he kicked a goal in the majority of games this season.
6- Adam Treloar- Averaged over thirty possessions a game and almost a goal a game.
Honourable Mention- Matthew Scharenberg- Had the ability to play an important role in defence and also created run out of defence.

Power

1- Robbie Gray- The leading goal kicker for the Power, plays a valuable role for his team.
2- Tom Jonas- Took the most marks for the Power, despite missing four games, named in the All Australian squad of 40.
3- Justin Westhoff- Third on the goal kicking list for his team, second on total marks for the club and averaged nearly twenty possessions.
4- Charlie Dixon- Dixon kicked the second most goals for the club.
5- Paddy Ryder- An integral part of the Power structure.
6- Ollie Wines- First for disposals and second for tackles for the Power.
Honourable Mention- Brad Ebert- Ebert is a valuable part of the Power leadership group, first for tackles at the club and averaged approximately twenty disposals a game.

Saints

1- Jack Steven- An important leader for the Saints, possibly the only elite player for the Saints.
2- Jake Carlisle- First for marks at the club, in spite of missing five games. Usually played at centre half back, a key part of the Saints structure.
3- Sebastian Ross- The most possessions at the club, had the ability to accumulate plenty of the ball.
4- Jade Gresham- The leading goal kicker for the Saints, played an important role as a small forward.
5- Tim Membrey- Second for marks and on the goal kicking list for the Saints.
6- Jarryn Geary- Averaged twenty possessions a game, providing a lot of run out of defence and was also the leader of the team.
Honourable Mention- Jimmy Webster- Played an important role for the team in the back line and still managed to averaged twenty-two disposals a game.
