Cats v Tigers My Preview
The clash between the Cats and the Tigers promises to be an intriguing tussle. It will start in the ruck with Nankervis to go up against Zac Smith. It won’t only be Dangerfield that the Tigers will need to curtail. Duncan, Scott Selwood and Menegola have added some class through the middle of the ground for the Cats. While, the Tigers will look to the likes of Josh Caddy and Dion Prestia to provide depth in the midfield for the Tigers.
The Tigers will take a running team into the clash; they will play with Jack Riewoldt as the sole forward target. Geelong will look to the tall targets of Harry Taylor and Tom Hawkins to create a contest and bring Motlop, Parsons and co to collect the crumbs. While, Castagna, Butler and Rioli will create the smaller options in the forward line from the Tigers perspective. The likes of Dustin Martin, Josh Caddy and Jacob Townsend will be needed to provide scoreboard pressure.
The run provided by Houli and Brandon Ellis need to be prevalent for the Tigers to claim victory. While, the Cats will look to Tuohy and co to provide run off their half back line. Meanwhile Dustin Martin and Patrick Dangerfield will look to provide scoreboard pressure for their respective teams. The versatility and flexibility of both teams will tell the story. It will be the Tigers running game up against the strong contested footy of the Cats.
Jordan Murdoch and Parifitt will need to create scoreboard pressure from a Cats point of view. The likes of Grimes and Astbury will play a key role with regards to the final result. The battle of the two captains; Joel Selwood and Trent Cotchin will play a pivotal part in their respective teams quest for the preliminary Final spot.
