Premier League Team of the Week – Matchweek 5 (Premier League Season 2020-21)

Matchweek 5 Team of the Week (In a Nutshell)

I predicted four players who were selected by me in the Matchweek 5 Team of the Week!

Formation

 4-3-3

Starting 11

Goalkeeper: Emiliano Martínez (Aston Villa)
Right Back: Matthew Cash (Aston Villa)
Centre Back: Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa)
Centre Back: Harry Maguire (Manchester United)
Left Back: Ben Chilwell (Chelsea)
Centre Midfield: Ross Barkley (Aston Villa)
Centre Midfield: Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)
Centre Midfield: Juan Mata (Manchester United)
Striker: Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)
Striker: Harry Kane (Tottenham)
Striker: Timo Werner (Chelsea)

Goalkeeper

Emiliano Martínez was at his best for Aston Villa as he made some crucial saves that helped Aston Villa stay in the game. To be exact, the goalkeeper made five saves that remarkably assisted his team in making it four wins from the first four games this Premier League Season.

Defenders

Matthew Cash had a fairly good game for Aston Villa; he helped them keep a clean sheet.
Tyrone Mings was a pivotal part of the back four for Aston Villa, specifically in the centre of defence.
Harry Maguire scored the equalising goal to make it 1-all near the midway point of the 1st half. He substantiated why he is Manchester United’s captain.
Ben Chilwell provided an assist for Chelsea for the 2nd game in a row.

Midfielders

Ross Barkley scored a goal for the 2nd game in a row for Aston Villa, in what was his 2nd game since signing on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the Season. He may even be a bit of a barometer for Aston Villa!
Bruno Fernandes scored a goal and provided an assist for Manchester United in their 4-1 demolition of Newcastle United.
Juan Mata provided the assist for the all important equaliser from a set piece in the 23rd minute, for Manchester United.

Strikers

Marcus Rashford from Manchester United provided two assists and scored a stunning goal.
Harry Kane scored a brace for Tottenham and also provided the assists for the opening goal of the game.
Timo Werner finally got on the score sheet for Chelsea, scoring a brace.

Matchweek 5 Team of the Week (Final Thoughts)

I endeavoured to select the Premier League Team of the Week in Matchweek 5 as accurately as possible. That’s related to the positions that I chose and the formation that most closely fitted the players that warranted selection in Matchweek 5 Team of the Week. As with other previous Team of the Weeks there were unlucky players that missed out, but that’s football.
