AFL Round 4 Preview (Season 2020)

My Predictions- AFL Round 4, Season 2020 (Predicted winner for each game in Brackets)

Sydney Swans v (Western Bulldogs)
(Greater Western Sydney Giants) v Collingwood
(Port Adelaide) v West Coast
(St Kilda) v Collingwood
(Essendon) v Carlton
(Gold Coast) v Fremantle
(Brisbane) v Adelaide
(Melbourne) v Geelong
Hawthorn v (North Melbourne)

My choice of a definite winner for this Round: St Kilda v Richmond (St Kilda to win)

Toughest game to pick a winner in: Sydney Swans v Western Bulldogs (Western Bulldogs to win)

Thursday Night Game

Sydney Swans v Western Bulldogs
This is a tough game to predict a winner in. The Western Bulldogs have the capability of causing an upset. They both have their strengths and deficiencies. If the Western Bulldogs can control the midfield then they should win the game. Josh Dunkley’s injury could mean that Jack Macrae plays more midfield minutes, which Macrae should relish.
Key matchup: Luke Parker v Marcus Bontempelli
Sydney Swans Game Changer: Tom Papley
Western Bulldogs Game Changer: Tim English
My Prediction: Western Bulldogs

Friday Night Game

Greater Western Sydney Giants v Collingwood Magpies
The Greater Western Sydney Giants are playing against a Collingwood Magpies team that’s undefeated as it stands, despite failing to beat Richmond as they shared the points with them in a drawn game in Round 2. The Giants will want to use their loss to the Western Bulldogs as motivation. Expect the Giants to win this game.
Key matchup: Shane Mumford v Brodie Grundy
Greater Western Sydney Giants Game Changer: Lachie Whitfield
Collingwood Magpies Game Changer: Chris Mayne
My Prediction: Greater Western Sydney Giants

Saturday Afternoon Game

Port Adelaide v West Coast
This should be a good game of footy, with West Coast looking to prove that their performances in Round 2 and Round 3 aren’t a reflection of the quality that they possess within their team. It wouldn’t surprise me if West Coast bounced back and used their 2 consecutive losses as motivation.
Key matchup: Travis Boak v Luke Shuey
Port Adelaide Game Changer: Brad Ebert
West Coast Game Changer: Tim Kelly
My Prediction: West Coast

Saturday Evening Game (Melbourne Time)

St Kilda v Richmond
Both of these teams struggled in Round 3 as they were smashed and will be looking to bounce back and prove that they can still make the finals. Despite the fact it’s early in the Season a loss in Round 4 would mean that the losing team have lost 3 of their opening 4 games of Season 2020!
Key matchup: Seb Ross v Dion Prestia
St Kilda Game Changer: Jack Billings
Richmond Game Changer: Kane Lambert
My Prediction: St Kilda

Saturday Night Games

Essendon v Carlton
Essendon should be too good in this game, given the fact that their Round 3 fixture was postponed, they had plenty of time to prepare for the game mentally.
Key matchup: Andrew Mcgrath v Sam Walsh
Essendon Game Changer: Kyle Langford
Carlton Game Changer: Will Setterfield
My Prediction: Essendon

Gold Coast v Fremantle
Gold Coast are definitely going to win this game comfortably if they can replicate their Round 2 and 3 performances.
Key matchup: Jarrod Witts v Rory Lobb
Gold Coast Game Changer: Darcy MacPherson
Fremantle Game Changer: James Aish
My Prediction: Gold Coast

Sunday Afternoon Games

Brisbane v Adelaide
This game is a forgone conclusion based on both teams performances in Round 3; Brisbane were good, while Adelaide were deplorable. That ‘should’ mean this game will obviously be won by Brisbane.
Key matchup: Eric Hipwood v Fisher McAsey
Brisbane Game Changer: Eric Hipwood
Adelaide Game Changer: Tom Lynch
My Prediction: Brisbane

Melbourne v Geelong
This game is an opportunity for Melbourne to prove they are capable of playing finals!
Key matchup: Clayton Oliver v Patrick Dangerfield
Melbourne Game Changer: Angus Brayshaw
Geelong Game Changer: Mitch Duncan
My Prediction: Melbourne

Sunday Night Game

Hawthorn v North Melbourne
North Melbourne have been a great form. Their only loss was in Round 3 in a narrow loss to the Sydney Swans. Hawthorn will find it tough to beat North Melbourne, as North Melbourne have a good game plan, implemented by their Coach, Rhyce Shaw!
Key matchup: Tom Mitchell v Shaun Higgins
Hawthorn Game Changer: James Worpel
North Melbourne Game Changer: Shaun Higgins
My Prediction: North Melbourne
