Round Highlight

Eli Adams scored a wonderful goal in the 56th minute, to open his account for Newcastle Jets and get them back into the game against Macarthur FC.

Game One of Six

Macarthur FC (1) v Newcastle Jets (2)
Facts and Figures: Newcastle Jets had 36% possession and two shots on target, while Macarthur FC had seven. Eli Adams of the Jets scored a brace, with the goals coming in the 56th and 60th minute. It was a brave comeback win by them. Macarthur FC captain Valere Germain had a penalty saved by Jets vice-captain Ryan Scott in the 91st minute.

Adelaide United (1) v Central Coast Mariners (1)
Facts and Figures: Adelaide United had 62% possession and four shots on target, compared with Central Coast Mariners who had five. Adelaide United controlled the first half. Mariners coach Mark Jackson made two substitutions at half-time that changed the game.

Melbourne City (1) v Melbourne Victory (3)
Facts and Figures: Melbourne Victory had 40% possession and six shots on target, while Melbourne City had five. The score was 3-nil in favour of Victory after 25 minutes. New Victory manager Patrick Kisnorbo coached against his former team City.

Perth Glory (0) v Wellington Phoenix (2)
Facts and Figures: Wellington Phoenix had 48% possession and two shots on target, compared to Perth Glory who had one. The Distance Derby was a fairly monotonous game. It’s been a poor start to the season from Glory.

Auckland FC (1) v Sydney FC (0)
Facts and Figures: Auckland FC had 41% possession. Both teams had three shots on target. The only goal for the game came in the 97th minute with a freakish back heal from Nando Pijnaker of Auckland FC. Steve Corica manager of Auckland FC coached against his former team Sydney FC.

Western United (1) v Western Sydney Wanderers (1)
Facts and Figures: Western United had 42% possession had 42% possession and five shots on target, compared with Western Sydney Wanderers who had three. Both teams had 34 shots combined.
