Jake Lever of the Demons proved what an important player he is to the team in the absence of Steven May.
Dane Rampe of the Swans did a good job in curtailing the influence of the likes of Ben King.
Daniel Rich of the Lions had the most metres gained of any player in the competition with 1010!

Half-backs

Daniel Rioli was arguably the Tigers best player. When the game was on the line he changed the game.
Jeremy McGovern kept the Eagles in the game and nearly got them over the line with 12 intercepts.
Isaac Smith of the Cats had the most metres gained of any player in their game against the Magpies.

Centres

Jordan Clark of the Dockers had a good game as he finished with 28 disposals.
Will Setterfield of the Bombers made every disposal count. He had the most tackles of any player on the ground against the Hawks with six tackles.
Jack Macrae had the most disposals of any Bulldogs player with 33 disposals and kicked a goal.

Half-forwards

Blake Hardwick of the Hawks kicked two goals and had five tackles in a new role up forward.
Mason Wood was prolific for the Saints as he had 20 disposals and kicked two goals.
Ben Keays was one of the Crows better players.

Forwards

Toby Greene kicked four goals and helped the Giants have a big comeback win.
Nick Larkey of the Kangaroos kicked six goals!
Harry McKay provided a target for the Blues and took the pressure off Charlie Curnow.

Followers

Jarrod Witts was probably the only Suns player that could hold his head up and say I performed to my optimum level.
Jordan De Goey was arguably the match winner for the Magpies as he finished with three goals and 25 disposals.
Jason Horne-Francis proved what a talent he is as he played well when the game was on the line for the Power.
