My Favourite 50 AFL Players- Season 2022 (50-41)

50- Sam De Koning (Geelong Cats)

Sam De Koning averaged the second most intercepts of any Cats player with an average of 6.91 intercepts per game. He featured in 23 of the Cats 25 games. The game he missed in Round 2, the Cats lost by 30 points. He was efficient when he used the ball with an average disposal efficiency of 83.22% disposal efficiency per game.

49- Brad Crouch (St Kilda Saints)

Brad Crouch of the Saints polled 10 votes at the Brownlow Medal in Season 2022, which was the second most of any Saints player. He had a consistent Season as he averaged 27.19 disposals per game, playing in 21 of the Saints 22 games.

48- Tom Barrass (West Coast Eagles)

Barrass averaged the equal fifth most intercepts of any player in the AFL with an average of 8.00 intercepts per game. Despite missing three games he won the Eagles Best and Fairest.

47- Todd Marshall (Port Adelaide Power)

Marshall was an important part of the Power team from a structural point of view. He kicked nearly double the number of goals as the next highest goal scorer for them. He kicked 45 goals, with the next best being 24 goals! He was a player that often went under the radar.

46- Chad Warner (Sydney Swans)

Warner had a good Season for the Swans. He was the best player for them in the Grand Final. Along with that, he averaged the ninth most score involvements of any player in the AFL in Season 2022, with an average of 7.04 score involvements per game.

45- Bayley Fritsch (Melbourne Demons)

Fritsch kicked at least one goal in every game that he played in Season 2022. He featured in all of the 24 games that the Demons played. He was rewarded as he was selected in the AFL All-Australian squad of 44.

44- Charlie Cameron (Brisbane Lions)

Charlie Cameron is a player that is an important player for the Lions. The only two games that he didn’t kick goals in were against the Demons, as he was extremely consistent.

43- Josh Daicos (Collingwood Magpies)

Josh Daicos had a good Season for the Magpies as he was named in the AFL All-Australian squad of 44.

42- Caleb Serong (Fremantle Dockers)

Serong featured in all of the 24 games that the Dockers played, in Season 2022. He averaged the third most disposals of any Dockers player with an average of 26.41 disposals per game.

41- Tom Atkins (Geelong Cats)

Atkins played every game for the Cats in Season 2022; he was a revelation and a pivotal part of their team. He even worked hard defensively as he averaged 4.56 intercepts per game.
