Changkuoth Jiath was arguably the best player on the ground against the Kangaroos.
Marcus Adams was a big reason of why the Lions prevailed against the Power.

Half-backs

Sam Docherty was sensational for the Blues in his first game back after suffering cancer.
Jeremy McGovern did a good job keeping the Eagles competitive in his role at centre half back.
Bailey Dale was prolific for the Bulldogs on a half back flank, with 25 disposals and a goal.

Centres

Ed Langdon kicked the first goal of the game and worked hard, even being in the right spot in defence for the Demons. He amassed 22 disposals and had a good game.
Luke Parker was inspirational as he kicked five goals; he was the match winner for the Swans.
Tom Green amassed 31 disposals and kicked two goals. He kept the Giants in the contest.

Half-forwards

Shai Bolton was arguably the Tigers best player; he finished the game with three goals.
Brody Mihocek kicked three goals for the Magpies in a solid display.
Ben Keays had 37 disposals for the Crows.

Forwards

Nic Martin kicked five goals for the Bombers; he was a shining light.
Tom Hawkins kicked four goals for the Cats in the first quarter and a bit.
Jack Hayes kicked three goals for the Saints.

Followers

Jarrod Witts curtailed the influence of Nic Naitanui. Witts of the Suns showed why the Suns missed him through injury in season 2021.
Jy Simpkin of the Kangaroos won plenty of the ball and kicked two goals.
David Mundy had a decent game for the Dockers.
