AFL Round 7 Preview (Season 2021)

My Predictions- AFL Round 7, Season 2021 (Predicted winner for each game in Brackets)

Richmond v (Western Bulldogs)
Collingwood v (Gold Coast Suns)
Adelaide Crows v (GWS Giants)
St Kilda v (Hawthorn)
Brisbane Lions v (Port Adelaide)
Sydney Swans v (Geelong Cats)
North Melbourne v (Melbourne Demons)
(Essendon) v Carlton
West Coast Eagles v (Fremantle Dockers)

Friday Night Game

Richmond v Western Bulldogs
This could be a Season defining game for both of these teams. The fact that Richmond has some players missing will hurt their chances of winning this game. If the Western Bulldogs win this, they could go through the Season unbeaten. The loss of Josh Dunkley through injury may hurt their chances of achieving that though.
Key matchup: Noah Balta v Josh Bruce
Richmond Game Changer: Toby Nankervis
Western Bulldogs Game Changer: Jack Macrae
My Prediction: Western Bulldogs

Saturday Afternoon Games (Eastern Time)

Collingwood v Gold Coast Suns
This is a game that the Gold Coast Suns can win. It’s difficult to see Collingwood winning this game in the form slump that they are in.
Key matchup: Jordan Roughead v Ben King
Collingwood Game Changer: Jack Crisp
Gold Coast Suns Game Changer: Nick Holman
My Prediction: Gold Coast Suns

Adelaide Crows v GWS Giants
This game is a tough game to predict as both teams will view this game as Season defining.
Key matchup: Rory Laird v Tim Taranto
Adelaide Crows Game Changer: Rory Laird
GWS Giants Game Changer: Tim Taranto
My Prediction: GWS Giants

Saturday Evening Game (Melbourne Time)

St Kilda v Hawthorn
Hawthorn should win this game, as St Kilda aren’t in good form.
Key matchup: Jack Steele v Liam Shiels
St Kilda Game Changer: Jack Billings
Hawthorn Game Changer: Jacob Koschitzke
My Prediction: Hawthorn

Saturday Night Games

Brisbane Lions v Port Adelaide
This is a game that Port Adelaide should win as they are in good form, despite being without Travis Boak due to injury. The fact that last year’s Brownlow Medallist from the Lions, Lachie Neale won’t play due to injury will hurt the Lions chances of winning this game.
Key matchup: Oscar McInerney v Scott Lycett
Brisbane Lions Game Changer: Joe Daniher
Port Adelaide Game Changer: Steven Motlop
My Prediction: Port Adelaide

Sydney Swans v Geelong Cats
Based on the two respective teams performances in Round 6, the Cats should win this game.
Key matchup: Callum Sinclair v Rhys Stanley
Sydney Swans Game Changer: Chad Warner
Geelong Cats Game Changer: Mitch Duncan
My Prediction: Geelong Cats

Sunday Afternoon Games (Melbourne Time)

North Melbourne v Melbourne Demons
It’s difficult to see North Melbourne being competitive in this game.
Key matchup: Todd Goldstein v Max Gawn
North Melbourne Game Changer: Nick Larkey
Melbourne Demons Game Changer: Ed Langdon
My Prediction: Melbourne Demons

Essendon v Carlton
This is a game that could go either way. It’s yet another possible Season defining game in Round 7.
Key matchup: Andrew Phillips v Marc Pittonet
Essendon Game Changer: Zach Merrett
Carlton Game Changer: Sam Walsh
My Prediction: Essendon

Sunday Afternoon Game (Perth Time)

West Coast Eagles v Fremantle Dockers
The Eagles will need to improve on their Round 6 display if they are to be competitive in Round 7.
Key matchup: Nic Naitanui v Sean Darcy
West Coast Eagles Game Changer: Alex Witherden
Fremantle Dockers Game Changer: David Mundy
My Prediction: Fremantle Dockers
