Backs

Luke McDonald was outstanding for North Melbourne amassing 35 disposals.
Sam Collins helped keep Gold Coast in the game on the scoreboard with a quality display.
Ben Paton prevented Tom Papley having much impact on the game. Paton curtailed Papley’s influence doing an inspirational job.
Lachie Whitfield just keeps on producing quality games accumulating 29 disposals in a best on ground performance.
Darcy Moore nearly got Collingwood an undeserved win. Moore’s endeavour was great and use of the ball was good on the whole, despite making one error.
Brayden Maynard was a solid contributor for Collingwood. Maynard took a fair amount of intercept marks.

Midfielders

Jack Macrae was clearly the best player for the Western Bulldogs with 37 disposals.
Nat Fyfe played a superb game. Fremantle are a different team with Fyfe in it.
Karl Amon displayed why he is such a quality player with his performance in Round 9.

Forwards

Dom Sheed kicked a couple of goals and was a pivotal part of West Coast winning the game against Geelong.
Matt Taberner was outstanding for Fremantle kicking four goals.
Jade Gresham kicked two goals to help St Kilda have a comfortable win over the Sydney Swans.
Dustin Martin was at his best with three freakish goals.
Josh Kennedy of the West Coast Eagles kicked four goals.

Followers

Todd Goldstein helped North Melbourne dominate against the Adelaide Crows.
Tom Mitchell was back to his best with 28 disposals against Carlton.
Lachie Neale proved why he is the Brownlow Favourite for AFL Season 2020.

Interchange

Alex Witherden displayed why he should be a permanent part of the Brisbane team when fit and available. It’s remarkable that Witherden’s first game of the Season was played in Round 9.
Tim Kelly was outstanding against his old team, helping West Coast get back into the game and eventually gain the lead and win the game.
Nic Naitanui simply did what he usually does, which was be a pivotal part of a West Coast winning team in Round 9. That’s despite the fact that they were challenged by Geelong.
Nick Hind was an important part of St Kilda defeating the Sydney Swans as Hind kicked three goals and was a threat every time he got near the footy.
