Coach

Brett Ratten (St Kilda Saints)- Brett Ratten may be the best coach yet to win a Premiership of the current AFL coaches. Ratten was extremely unlucky to lose his job as coach of Carlton. Expect St Kilda to make the finals in Season 2020.

Co-Captains

Tom Phillips (Collingwood Magpies), Ben Cunnington (North Melbourne Kangaroos)- These 2 players would be perfect for the role of Co-Captains; both of them are extremely good players, Tom Phillips doesn’t get the recognition of the other midfielders in his team and Ben Cunnington should be considered an elite player of the competition.

Backs

Luke Brown is a player that doesn’t get talked about enough in regards to his ability to play his role for the team. Rory Thompson will show why in Season 2020 as I expect him to hold his spot. Tom Doedee should hold his spot for Adelaide next Season with a new Coach and a fresh start. Blake Hardwick was an important part of Hawthorn’s defence playing every game in Season 2019 and should continue on from that. Marcus Adams played the last 10 games of Season 2019. Connor Blakely played the last 14 games of Season 2019.

Midfielders

Tom Phillips is a quality player that makes Collingwood a better team; Phillips was a big reason why Collingwood finished in the top 4. Ben Cunnington isn’t highly rated enough as you probably have to be an avid follower of AFL to appreciate his talent and the way in which he leads from the front. Josh Caddy doesn’t have to get many possessions to influence the contest.

Forwards

Michael Gibbons doesn’t have to have a good game statistically to influence it. Justin Westhoff will prove why he is an important cog in the Port Adelaide team. Jack Sinclair played every game in Season 2019; he just does his job with no fuss. Jason Castagna will go up in many people summations in Season 2020. Harry Himmelberg missed just 1 game in Season 2019, Himmelberg will display why he is such an integral part of the Greater Wester Sydney structure. Nick Hind averaged a goal a game in Season 2019, expect him to grow as a player.

Followers

Scott Lycett played well when given the opportunity in Season 2019 and will improve from that and prove that he is a better ruckman than Nic Naitanui. Tim Taranto was the Greater Western Sydney’s best player in Season 2019, but should be considered as elite. George Hewett played ever game for Sydney in Season 2019 and never shirks his role, Hewett averaged over 20 possessions a game.

Interchange

Nathan Broad doesn’t get the recognition of the likes of David Astbury, but he should. Matthew Broadbent of Port Adelaide averaged 19.9 possessions a game in Season 2019, when he all really needs is about 15 possessions to have an impact on the contest. Kane Lambert finished in the top 10 of the Richmond best and fairest, but is possibly one of the best half forward flankers in the competition. The Western Bulldogs game against Greater Western Sydney proved how important a player Mitch Wallis is to his team as they missed him.
