AFL Grand Final My Preview (Eagles v Magpies)
There are some exciting match ups that are going to be on show in this seasons AFL Grand Final. The game features the Eagles and the Magpies. The match is difficult to pick a definitive winner in. This is the game where everything is on the line. On the one hand the team that wins will celebrate the ultimate success, while the team who losses has a long preseason ahead of them.
Eagles Backs v Magpies Forwards
Jeremy Mcgovern and Will Schofield are the two starting backs that are quality players. Every Magpies forward has the ability to hit the scoreboard; I expect all of the six starting forwards to be dangerous.
Key Matchup: Jeremy Mcgovern v Brody Mihocek
Eagles Midfield v Magpies Midfield
There are many intriguing matchups in the midfield. I will include the ruck battle in the discussion with Brodie Grundy of the Magpies mobility around the ground making him effectively an extra midfielder for them. Elliot Yeo and Scott Pendlebury is another fascinating contest. I expect the battle between Luke Shuey and Taylor Adams as well as the battle involving Jack Redden and Adam Treloar to determine which team will win the contest.
Key Matchup: Jack Redden v Adam Treloar
Eagles Forwards v Magpies Backs
The Eagles forward line poses a big threat to the Magpies if their Preliminary Final game with the Demons is anything to judge them on. It was the Eagles capability to hit the scoreboard on a regular basis that shows that the Eagles forward line will be extremely dangerous in regards to their ability to convert their opportunities.
Key Matchup: Jack Darling v Tyson Goldsack
There are important players for either side on their respective benches. The interchange for both teams will be integral with the Eagles possessing four quality players on their bench will the Magpies also have four players that will be important parts of their team.
Key Player on bench: Liam Duggan (Eagles), Levi Greenwood (Magpies)
Magpies: I expect the Magpies to win fairly comfortably.
