Who’s Going to Win it? Here’s My Preview of the AFL Semi Finals!

AFL Semi Finals My Preview

What a weekend of footy we have ahead of us. Check out my preview for week 2 of the AFL Finals Series. First we have the Hawks and the Demons; It should be a fascinating clash. The Magpies and the Giants should also be an interesting contest.

My choice of a definite winner for this Round: Demons

Friday Night Game

Hawks v Demons
This is going to be a good clash between a team on the up in the Demons and an outfit that had a stumbling block in week 1 of the finals in the Hawks. There are some intriguing matchups, the most important of these is James Sicily up against Tom Mcdonald. Another dual that could shape the outcome of the match is Ben Mcevoy against Max Gawn. There is an interesting matchup in the midfield with Tom Mitchell against Jack Viney. The Hawks won six in a row prior to their loss to the Tigers so both teams bring some descent form into the game. I still think the Demons should prevail in this contest.
Key matchup: James Sicily v Tom Mcdonald
Hawks Game Changer: Tom Mitchell
Demons Game Changer: Angus Brayshaw
My Prediction: Demons

Saturday Night Game

Magpies v Giants

This should be a close encounter between two teams that I can’t see winning the Premiership, regardless of whether they make it to the Preliminary Final. The matchup between Taylor Adams and Stephen Coniglio could shape the result of this game. The ruck battle between Brodie Grundy and Rory Lobb could be pivotal, then there is the dual between the two captains involving Scott Pendlebury and Callan Ward, which could prove to be an interesting one. The Giants should win this contest, but it could go either way with the Giants forced to play without possibly their most important player in Josh Kelly. I can’t see the Giants losing this one.
Key matchup: Taylor Adams v Stephen Coniglio
Magpies Game Changer: Steele Sidebottom
Giants Game Changer: Callan Ward
My Prediction: Giants
