What an Enthralling Week 1 of AFL Finals! Take a Look at My Review!

AFL Finals Week 1 My Review

September started off with a fantastic victory to the Tigers over the Hawks. The Demons played a similar brand of footy to the Tigers as they were ruthless in their attack on the footy. The Giants destroyed the Swans, but they lost Josh Kelly through injury, which is a massive loss for them. The Eagles managed to beat the Magpies, despite the Magpies controlling much of the contest.

Thursday Night Game

Tigers v Hawks

The Tigers didn’t have a bad player, everyone played their role for the team. Dustin Martin kicked a ridiculously good goal. That was the catalyst for the Tigers to march to a well deserved victory. The Tigers had a fairly comfortable victory in the end.
Tigers Game Changer: Dustin Martin
Hawks Game Changer: Tom Mitchell

Friday Night Game

Demons v Cats

The Demons smashed the Cats; the Demons thoroughly outplayed the Cats. The Demons did every façade of the game well apart from their kicking for goal. The Demons had twenty-five shots on goal to the Cats sixteen. Simon Goodwin outcoached Chris Scott; the Demons ruthlessly attacked the footy.
Demons Game Changer: Angus Brayshaw
Cats Game Changer: Patrick Dangerfield

Saturday Game

Swans v Giants

The local derby looked like it would be a classic early, but it failed to live up to its potential. The Giants should have won by a lot more than they did as they had twenty-nine scoring shots to the Swans ten. The Swans have to mull over their capitulation in the upcoming preseason, while the Giants have a good opportunity to progress further into the finals when they face the Magpies next week.
Swans Game Changer: Luke Parker
Giants Game Changer: Phil Davis

Saturday Night Game

Eagles v Magpies

The Eagles controlled the first quarter, but the Magpies were clearly the better team in the second and third quarters. The Magpies failed to put the game away in the final term. The Magpies didn’t capitalise on an opportunity to play in the preliminary final; they will have to do it the hard way as they have to play the Giants next week. The Eagles have the luxury of the week off, however their win was soured by a hamstring injury to Brad Sheppard.
Eagles Game Changers: Jack Redden, Elliot Yeo
Magpies Game Changer: Taylor Adams
