Preview- Round Ten 2018 (AFL)
This Round promises to be an unpredictable Round of football with the Saints and Blues in particular needing a good performance to give their fans something to cheer about. We have to see if the Cats, Tigers and Hawks can bounce back, while the Bombers and Lions have to prove that they weren’t a one week wonder.
My choice of a definite winner for this Round: Kangaroos
Byes: Power, Suns
Magpies v Bulldogs
Both these teams sit outside of the top eight and this game shapes as an important one for their top eight aspirations.
Key matchup: Levi Greenwood v Jack Macrae
Magpies Game Changer: Matthew Scharenberg
Bulldogs Game Changer: Jack Macrae
My Prediction: Bulldogs
Tigers v Saints
The Tigers and Saints are coming off losses. The Saints are in desperate need of the four points.
Key matchup: Bachar Houli v Jack Billings
Tigers Game Changer: Dustin Martin
Saints Game Changer: Jimmy Webster
My Prediction: Saints
Lions v Swans
The Lions and Swans both had wins last week. This game is a lot more unpredictable with the Lions having collected four points for the first time this Season. The Swans should have too much talent in this contest though.
Key matchup: Stefan Martin v Callum Sinclair
Lions Game Changer: Luke Hodge
Swans Game Changer: Luke Parker
My Prediction: Swans
Cats v Blues
The Cats and Blues both had their worst performances of the year last weekend. The Cats should have too much talent and class for the Blues.
Key matchup: Joel Selwood v Ed Curnow
Cats Game Changer: Mitch Duncan
Blues Game Changer: Harry Mckay
My Prediction: Cats
Giants v Bombers
Both teams haven’t been performing well. The Bombers will be looking to prove that their win last week was the start of a positive trend and not an aberration.
Key matchup: Lachie Whitfield v Brendon Goddard
Giants Game Changer: Rory Lobb
Bombers Game Changer: Zach Merrett
My Prediction: Bombers
Hawks v Eagles
The Hawks are coming off a disappointing loss to the Lions, while the Eagles have only lost one match this Season.
Key matchup: James Sicily v Jack Darling
Hawks Game Changer: Isaac Smith
Eagles Game Changer: Andrew Gaff
My Prediction: Eagles
Demons v Crows
The Demons are coming off two one sided victories, while the Crows managed to win last week despite having key injuries.
Key matchup: Max Gawn v Sam Jacobs
Demons Game Changer: Neville Jetta
Crows Game Changer: Richard Douglas
My Prediction: Crows
Dockers v Kangaroos
The Kangaroos have been one of the surprise teams in the competition, while the Dockers have battled to find consistency.
Key matchup: David Mundy v Ben Cunnington
Dockers Game Changer: Michael Walters
Kangaroos Game Changer: Todd Goldstein
My Prediction: Kangaroos
