Preview- Round Five 2018 (AFL)
Round Five of the AFL promises to be round full of surprises. As we have seen in the 2018 AFL Season, some teams have been disappointing whereas others have performed better than expected. The Saints, Blues, Suns, Crows and Lions all have a point to prove this round, following losing fairly comprehensively in their Round Four AFL games.
Swans v Crows Preview
The Swans narrowly beat the Bulldogs last week and go into this contest as favourites, with the Crows being decimated by injuries. It will be intriguing to see if the Crows can bounce back in this one.
Swans Game Changer: Luke Parker
Crows Game Changer: Richard Douglas
My Prediction: Crows
Saints v Giants Preview
The Saints have copped a lot of criticism following some poor displays. They would be looking to be competitive this Round, in order restore the faith of their supporters and members.
Saints Game Changers: Shane Savage
Giants Game Changer: Dylan Shiel
My Prediction: Giants
Blues v Eagles Preview
The Blues were annihilated by the Kangaroos last week and will be without their Captain Marc Murphy. The four points are just about a certainty to be collected by the Eagles.
Blues Game Changer: Patrick Cripps
Eagles Game Changer: Chris Masten
My Prediction: Eagles
Power v Cats Preview
The Power are undermanned in the ruck and in the backline. The Cats should win, despite this game being played interstate.
Power Game Changer: Brad Ebert
Cats Game Changer: Sam Menegola
My Prediction: Cats
Dockers v Bulldogs Preview
The Dockers were disappointing last week coming up against an undermanned Giants team. The Bulldogs were the most impressive of the losing teams last week, narrowly losing to the Swans.
Dockers Game Changer: Nat Fyfe
Bulldogs Game Changer: Jackson Macrae
My Prediction: Bulldogs
Kangaroos v Hawks Preview
Last week will mean nothing, if the Kangaroos don’t perform adequately this round. The Hawks have been arguably the best performing team this AFL Season, but this is a danger game for them, with the Kangaroos looking to continue their good form from last week.
Kangaroos Game Changer: Jarrad Waite
Hawks Game Changer: Tom Mitchell
My Prediction: Kangaroos
Lions v Suns Preview
Both of these two teams were deplorable last week, displaying little spirit. The Lions are fighting to avoid the wooden spoon and the Suns are pushing for a top eight finish. This is an exciting derby.
Lions Game Changer: Stefan Martin
Suns Game Changer: Jarryd Lyons
My Prediction: Suns
Demons v Tigers Preview
The Demons were criticised by the media for a poor last three quarters last week and deservedly so. The Tigers have some good wins of late and are full of confidence, whereas, The Demons need a win to lift their morale, or at least be more competitive to give their fans something to cheer about.
Demons Game Changer: Michael Hibberd
Tigers Game Changer: Toby Nankervis
My Prediction: Tigers
Magpies v Bombers Preview
This is a fascinating contest, with both teams collecting the four points on offer in Round Four. Coupled with the fact that this is a significant game, because it’s an Anzac Day clash in front of a big crowd, both teams will be looking to be victorious.
Magpies Game Changer: Will Hoskin-Elliot
Bombers Game Changer: Zach Merrett
My Prediction: Bombers
