  • He was a Left-back.
  • In his Youth career he played for União São João.
  • During his Senior career he played for União São João, Palmeiras, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Fenerbahçe, Corinthians, Anzhi Makhachkala and Delhi Dynamos.
  • At international level he played 125 games and scored 11 goals, for Brazil.
  • Remarkably, he won the FIFA World Cup with Brazil in 2002!
  • He retired from professional football in 2015.
