A-League Preview (Feb 9-11, 2018)

Preview- Feb 9-11, 2018 (Hyundai A-League)

This week end promises to be an entertaining and attacking weekend of football. Last week end there was at least two goals scored in every game of football being played. Hopefully the high scoring games played last weekend is a positive trend. All three games are relatively intriguing as every match has a bearing on the make up of the top six.

Victory v Roar Preview

It’s fifth against seventh in this clash. Both coaches need to collect the three points on offer, with both teams being relatively average in terms of performance this A-League Season. Victory welcome back Geria, who will presumably start in the right back position. He will play a key role in linking up with Kiwi international Barbarouses. The Roar needs three points to keep their faint hopes of a top six spot on the ladder alive. This game could go either way with both teams fighting hard.

Victory Game Changer: Kosta Barbarouses

Roar Game Changer: Jamie Young

My Prediction: Roar

City v Sky Blues Preview

It’s third against first in this one. The Sky Blues should get the Premiers Plate from their current position, however, football is a funny game and I’m sure manager ‘Arnie’ won’t rest on his laurels until it is mathematically impossible for the Sky Blues to not obtain the Premiers Plate. Playing at home City will fancy themselves to claim an upset win and keep their chances of a top two finish alive.

City Game Changers: Marcin Budzinski

Sky Blues Game Changer: Josh Brillante

My Prediction: City

Wanderers v Phoenix Preview

It’s sixth against tenth in this one. The Wanderers need to win this game to cement their spot in the top six. The Phoenix need the three points to help them to avoid the wooden spoon. This game shouldn’t be the forgone conclusion that most people think.

Wanderers Game Changer: Brendan Hamill

Phoenix Game Changer: Scott Galloway

My Prediction: Phoenix
