Round Eleven Preview (Hyundai A-League)
Round Eleven of the A-League should be an interesting Round of football. In my opinion all five games should be tough contests. In the last Round the results varied from nil all between the Roar and the Phoenix to five nil to the Sky Blues against the Wanderers. Even the last placed Phoenix will see an opportunity to collect the three points on offer against the Glory. Hopefully all the games prove to be competitive.
Sky Blues v City Preview
The Sky Blues are coming off the most comprehensive victory in the current A-League Season, while City have yet to drop a point since the departure of Cahill. Maybe that is vindication for the two parties parting way. It’s first versus third in what may prove to be a tough game to tip.
Sky Blues Game Changer: Andrew Redmayne
City Game Changer: Luke Brattan
My Prediction: Sky Blues
Jets v Reds Preview
The Jets are coming off one of the worst performances of the year against the Glory, but somehow they managed to steal the three points on offer with two late goals. The Reds also managed to collect the three points on offer with the winning goal against Victory coming in the Second Half. The Jets have scored the most goals in the A-League this Season with twenty-three goals. It’s second against fourth on the ladder, which should prove for an interesting game for the neutral.
Jets Game Changer: Jason Hoffman
Reds Game Changer: Ryan Kitto
My Prediction: Jets
Mariners v Wanderers Preview
The Mariners form has been patchy with just three wins from ten games, while the Wanderers are yet to collect the three points under new manager Gombau. Both teams could use the three points on offer, in their quest to finish in the top six and to qualify for the A-League finals.
Mariners Game Changer: Daniel De Silva
Wanderers Game Changer: Mark Bridge
My Prediction: Wanderers
Glory v Phoenix Preview
The Glory threw away three points last round, conceding two late goals to the in form Jets, however, the Glory have given opportunities to youngsters with the likes of Keogh. The Phoenix have also had injuries with the likes of Durante and Krishna out through injury. It’s eighth against tenth which means both teams need the three points on offer if they want to play finals football.
Glory Game Changer: Jacob Italiano
Phoenix Changer: Matthew Ridenton
My Prediction: Phoenix
Roar v Victory Preview
The Roar have been decimated by injury with the likes of Theo and North being out due to injury, however, this has given the likes of Young a chance to prove that they are worthy of a permanent spot in the starting line up. The Victory have managed just two wins from ten games this Season. Both teams are equal on ten points and are both fighting for the coveted sixth spot.
Roar Game Changer: Jamie Young
Victory Game Changer: Leroy George
My Prediction: Roar
