Round 9 Manager of the Week
Ernie Merrick (Jets)- An interesting choice with the Jets losing the game, however, the Jets controlled the game with Bouzanis the best player on the park in my opinion.
Round 9 Player of the Week
Dean Bouzanis (City)- The fact that he was in my opinion man of the match and his team won the game is testament to him being my Round 9 Player of the Week.
Round 9 Team of the Week
Goal Keeper– Dean Bouzanis (City)- Made many saves. Was the difference between both teams.
Left Back– Scott Jamieson (City)- Played one of his better games for the Season.
Left Centre Back– Antony Golec (Mariners)- Has been extremely consistent, unassuming in his demeanour. Showed his versatility playing left back for the last half hour.
Right Centre Back– Alex Wilkinson (Sky Blues)- Has shown great leadership in the way he carries himself.
Right Back– Ryan Strain (Reds)- Has been a revelation since filling for Marrone.
Left Centre Midfield– Brandon O’Neill- Has to be in the frame for a call up to the Socceroos.
Centre Midfield– James Troisi (Victory)- Managed the winning goal in a tight game.
Right Centre Midfield– Josh Brillante (Sky Blues)- Hasn’t played a bad game this Season. Focussed and composed, he deserves accolades and recognition for his performances thus far.
Attacking Midfield– Daniel De Silva (Mariners)- Continues to perform at a high level. Managed an assist for the only goal scored in the game.
Right Striker– Andrija Kaluderovic (Phoenix)- Finished with a well deserved brace.
Left Striker– Massimo Maccarone (Roar)- Was instrumental in the Roar coming away with the three points with the pivotal first goal.
