Ernie Merrick (Jets)- Once again the Jets managed to score two goals. Substantiated why he is one of the most successful managers in the history of the A-League. Always plays an attacking style of play.

Round 3 Player of the Week

Johan Absalonsen (Reds)- Managed to set up two goals to give him two assists. Looked dangerous when on the ball. Found pockets of space and got into good positions.

Round 3 Team of the Week

Goal Keeper– Jack Duncan (Jets)- Wasn’t kept that busy, but did everything that was asked of him.

Left Back– Ivan Vujica (Jets)- Like Josh Risdon provided an option going forward and never took a backward step.

Left Centre Back– Iacopo La Rocca (City)- Never stopped working hard. Put in a fantastic shift that helped City claim three points in a physical derby.

Right Centre Back– Robert Cornthwaite- Showed why he could possibly be regarded as the best leader in the A-League.

Right Back– Josh Risdon (WSW)- Was responsible for providing the assist for the first goal of the game.

Left Centre Midfield– Josh Brillante- His exquisite skill was rewarded with a goal. Unlucky not to get a second when he chipped the ball over Janjetovic His performance showed why people are touting him as a possible Socceroo.

Right Centre Midfield-Johan Absalonsen (Reds)- Carried on his form. Provided two good assists.

Left Wing– Connor Pain (Mariners)- Showed sublime skill. Was a joy to watch; worth the price of admission. Provided the assist for the Mariners only goal of the game.

Right Wing– Dimitri Petratos (Jets)- Managed to back up his brace good form in the opening two rounds with a spectacular finish.

Left Sided Striker– Andy Keogh (Glory)- Provided the all important equalizer.

Right Sided Striker– Adam Taggart (Glory)- Proof that if you don’t break through you keep trying. He missed four opportunities until he finally finished with a goal.
