Round 1 Team of the Week

Goal Keeper– Vedran Janjetovic (WSW)- Made some crucial saves in the second half.

Left Back– Raul Llorente (WSW)- Can’t recall him making any errors. Defended well against the likes of Castro. Never flustered when the ball was in his area

Left Centre Back- Nikilai Topor-Stanley (Jets)- Always reliable throughout the ninety minutes. Looked composed when he was on the ball.

Right Centre Back– Robert Cornthwaite (WSW)- Inspirational leadership was evident throughout the game.

Right Back– Daniel Georgievski (Jets)- Made an impact in his debut for the Jets. Capable of making an impact when the Jets had the ball. Probably the best attacking wing back in the Hyindai A-League. He still managed to play his role in the defensive part of the field for the Jets.

Left Defensive Centre Midfield– Benjamin Kantarovski (Jets) – Played arguably the best game he has ever played in his career as a professional footballer.

Right Defensive Centre Midfield– Josh Brillante (Sky Blues)- Put in a great shift in the middle of the park. Was a pivotal part of the Sky Blues winning the match.

Attacking Right Midfield– Dimitri Petratos (Jets) – Another player who played arguably his best game in the Hyundai A-League, was rewarded with the Jets fifth goal that put the icing on the cake.

Attacking Centre Midfield– Ronald Vargas (Jets) – Skill when he had the ball was sublime. Didn’t put a foot wrong.

Attacking Left Midfield: Andrew Nabbout (Jets) – Was instrumental in the Jets first half control of the game with a couple of intelligent crosses that led to goals.

Striker– Roy O’Donovan (Jets)- Couldn’t have finished with a better debut playing against his old club.
