Fremantle Dockers captain Alex Pearce smothered a kick from James Peatling (Adelaide Crows) late in the game.

Maurice Rioli (Richmond) took an amazing mark in the second quarter against Port Adelaide.

Isaac Heeney (Sydney Swans) took an incredible mark near quarter time and kicked four high quality goals for the game.

Christian Salem (Melbourne Demons) kicked a great snap, which made the deficit seven points at quarter time against Gold Coast Suns.

Jake Melksham (Melbourne Demons) took a spectacular mark in the third quarter.

Oliver Dempsey (Geelong Cats) kicked a great set shot goal from outside 50 from a tough angle in the second quarter against Hawthorn. Nick Watson (Hawthorn) kicked the next goal on his non dominant left foot.

AFL Round 4 Review (Season 2025)

Facts and Figures

Average Score: 82.5 points per team, with seven out of 16 teams scoring at least 89 points.
Average Winning Margin: 33 points per game, which indicates there were relatively one-sided games. Despite that, four out of wight games had a margin of 17 points or less.

Round Highlight

Gold Coast Suns and Adelaide Crows played possibly the best game of the season with the Suns winning by one-point in controversial circumstances with the AFL admitting Izak Rankine of the Crows should’ve been paid a mark or given a free kick in the final moments of the game, which probably would’ve changed the result.

Average Score: 79.67 points per team, which is fairly low, when taking into account four out of 18 teams scored 104 points or more.
Average Winning Margin: 26 points per game, which indicates there were relatively one-sided games. Two games had a margin of 69 points and 70 points respectively.
