Backs

Nic Newman of the Blues has been in good form; he often gets the job of negating the best small forward from the opposition.
Callum Wilkie has had 101 intercepts, which is the second most of any player in the AFL and plays for the Saints.
Nick Blakey of the Swans has had the equal seventh most intercepts of any player in the AFL with 82.

Half-backs

Ed Richards of the Bulldogs has had 75 intercepts in 11 games.
Steven May has averaged 6.00 intercepts per game in nine games for the Demons.
Scott Pendlebury of the Magpies has done a good job on a half back flank.

Centres

Jordan Dawson of the Crows has led from the front.
Zach Merrett has been exceptional in his first season of captain for the Bombers.
Josh Kelly of the Giants has played well in season 2023.

Half-forwards

Mason Wood is in All-Australian form. He can play forward or on the wing.
Jeremy Cameron is a pivotal player for the Cats, who works hard up the field. Along with that, he has kicked 36 goals.
Ben Keays of the Crows can play forward in a negating role and in the midfield.

Forwards

Errol Gulden of the Swans has the potential to play up forward, in the midfield or on the wing.
Joe Daniher has kicked 30 goals in season 2023.
Marcus Bontempelli of the Western Bulldogs leads them well.

Followers

Jarrod Witts of the Suns is a fantastic leader.
Tom Mitchell keeps on performing consistently for the Magpies.
Tom Liberatore of the Bulldogs is having a good season.

Interchange

Jack Macrae of the Bulldogs consistently plays his role for the team.
Brayden Maynard has done a good job in defence for the Magpies.
Jack Crisp of the Magpies plays his role for the team.
Jeremy Finlayson of the Power can play as a second ruck and as a third tall, up forward.
